Sweeeet!!! thanks for the update!!

Forget the GB. I never had the chance to play Met other than your location. All I can say is wow if I end up with one its your fault.

Quoted from ExtremePinball:

Shopped & freshly waxed WOZRR is back in at the center of the line up.
Enjoy!

Just got back from playing your lineup...While on woz, a young boy played the avatar next door at the suggestion of his parents, drained his first ball quick and mom says "its ok, you have 3 balls" right as the ball save auto launched the ball back into play, which surprised them all...seconds later, he is on ball 2 and loses it. Parents ask " want to play again" kid replies emphatically "No, its too hard" as they walk away leaving behind ball 3 believing that early autosave ball was ball 2.

Still on Woz, I hope to jump on that ball 3 but several minutes later some beefcake meathead starts randomly tapping the flipper buttons of each machine, as he starts getting closer I begin to realize that ball 3 is not in my future which is cool because im just completing the rainbow around this time.

As he taps the avatar flipper and gets a nice solid flip, he pauses for a moment in disbelief, turns to his broski buds to exclaim his good fortune, then hastily plunges ball 3 as if it were about to disappear or something. Your poor avatar was getting tossed around like a dimebag backally track slut for the entirety of that ball 3, every flip was administered with a powerful open handed slap, every shot he made warranted a hearty pelvic thrust from him. As ball 3 left his world, he turns to the broskis in defeat and defensively exclaims, "What was I supposed to do, haha"

I came in to play gb, got & kiss since those are the 3 titles I have yet to experience. Surprisingly, I preferred the gameplay of them in this order.

1.Kiss
2.Got
3.GB

But the real eye opener today for me was woz, iv'e played it before without much connection, but today it just worked...the light show, the screen when I had a chance to look up, the modes (most of which I completed) & 2 multiballs later I was hooked.

I always thought that condescending jab at stern on that plaque talking about how woz isnt some clickty clakity pile of dogshit machine was in bad taste...but after flipping woz for a good amount of time, and hopping onto a stern immediately after, I can agree that every word on the plaque is true...

I'm now a believer...

NYNY "Big Apple Arcade" AKA ExtremePinball (Pinside).Has the best kept commercial pinball machines in Las Vegas!.And the machines are all modded out.Who does that!.If you are in Las Vegas and like pinball. This is it folks.

#55 7 years ago

Played at NY NY the last three nights. Your pins are first class and fit in with Las Vegas! They are tastefully modded with appropriate bling. Lighted speaker panels, lighted flipper buttons and interactive undercabinet leds. Inner side art. Impressive. The pins were normal busy, not 4 people deep, but not empty. I couldn't tell if the ball save times were extra generous, but it sure felt that way... Very satisfying! I hope posts similar to mine help earnings and make you realize the money/time spent to maintain your line up is worth it!

Agreed!!!I ONLY come here now vs PHOF. This place you are GUARANTEED to have a good time on some perfectly playing, beautifully modded quality machines! You can really tell that the operator (Extreme Pinball) truly cares about his machines and the players experience. Me and my pinball buddy (and sometimes my wife) will come to NYNY to grab a slice of pizza and a beer from downstairs and then come play pinball for an hour or two! Some of my favorite things....Pinball, pizza, beer!! lolol

There is a sandwich shop downstairs also called Greenberg's. If you like a good Rueben sandwhich then you gotta try one of these get it with both pastrami and corned beef...they rock! Best sandwich I have ever eaten.

Was there this past week and played the games. Very nice line and I was impressed with all the mods for a routed game. I never played Kiss, GOT or GB. Liked GB and Kiss very much. GOT not so much. I did notice that the left flippers were weak at points on the GB and Kiss. Not a knock at all on the quality just something for your awareness. The games were all being played while I was there and I even had extra credits and gave them away to some of the young pinball enthusiasts that were enjoying the games.

Thanks!!

Is this the GB that had a center post drilled between the flippers? Gee whiz...

It is. And most of the people I've talked to that have played it, like it.

Those that don't like it are formally invited to exhibit some personal integrity and just let the ball drain.

Thanks for the note. I'm going there tomorrow morning so I'll check flipper operation on both of those and repair/replace as needed.

BTW - Both main flippers on Star Trek premium were rebuilt yesterday.

Hey, it's your game! Personally, I like the challenge of the Trudeau gap.

I like the center post. Ive only successfully saved a handful of SDTM's with it though. Its still a BRUTAL game even with the center post! I love it. I actually really want a GB PRO now haha

#64 7 years ago

I fully enjoyed the center post, especially on location. Not a place to pay for 1 minute balls. Allowed us to go further into the rules and enjoy the game more. If and when I get a GB Pro, I may not install the center post, but I see the value at that location. And by the way, the center post didn't stop the ball from draining... it still managed to go down!

Correct. As both an operator, and a collector, I chose to add the center post because the great majority of the people who play these games at NYNY are playing a pinball machine for the very first time. A 30 second insta-drain game is not the best way to introduce them to pinball. That's why I also set most outlane posts tight, and extend ball save times to 10 seconds. I prefer to offer play value and a fun time to these new players.

NOTE: My GBLE will NOT be receiving the same treatment.

This dude knows pinball and location customers. Kudos to you good sir, cheers! Love your pins!

Wish I had known before my recent trip to Vegas.

I would have stopped and given this incredible lineup some coin.

Don't put a Tron/IM out on location then ... Two pins that truly only get appreciated by players.

Super stoked for this location! Hope to get down this winter, and probably will skip PHoF this time.

I guess there are those out there that aren't fans of the center post:

I don't mind it but I have to ask why not install the Upgrade Kit instead of drilling? Seems like this would also help with outlane jump without the permanent hole in the playfield.

I just returned from a Las Vegas trip to see the Barbara concert.
I visited the NYNY arcade specifically from what I saw here on pinside!
All I can say is WOW! The pins are absoloutley STUNNING!
They play and look brand new! Just beautiful!
My wife was so impressed she now says we have to stop there every time we go to Las Vegas.
I noticed a lot of real pinball players playing, not just a bunch of kids thrashing about on the flippers.
It was refreshing and wonderful.
I dropped $40 into the ghostbusters, $20 in the GOT and another $30 in the metallica.
The IM was getting a lot of play that night.
GB is a great pin! Brutal game play, thanks for adding the drain post!!!!!! And the generous ball save.
Without the post my wife would never have played a second game. Now she says we might get one for our line-up but will have to play it some more.
Sadly the WOZ was absent, She likes it so much and was wanting to play it.
So, to the Op thanks for the great pinball!

As a plus, the Greenbergs Deli just downstairs from the arcade has really good pastrami and corned beef for an excellent price!
Just dont ask for a real deli-style kosher pickle, they dont have them.

Thanks so much for the compliments, and the support. Sorry about WOZ, I had to pull it again last week due to a lighting issue.

You, and many others here, will be pleased to learn that I'm actually opening my own arcade in downtown Las Vegas later this month. "Fremont Arcade" will be located in Neonopolis at the Fremont Street Experience, behind Denny's & Heart Attack Grill.

The pinball lineup in my arcade will make the NYNY setup look like a scrap heap in comparison. Picture almost everything you saw at NYNY.... in an LE version, and in NIB condition.

See a complete list of games in the Pin Map section of this website. I'll make a formal announcement once we're ready to open the doors.

Sweet, I love the NYNY lineup and it seems I'll be in Vegas first week of September. Hopefully your arcade is open then, I'll definitely check it out!

Anyone know what the lineup is at NYNY? Wife and I are thinking about making the long drive up there to play some pinball this weekend

Not sure but pm Extremepinball on here..they are his machines. Don't forget about the Freemont arcade now (also his):

Thanks. I'll pm him. I'll probably check out Fremont in February. We always Do Fremont once a year for the super bowl. NYNY is 2 1/2 hrs from me, don't want to prolong the trip anymore than I have to

#80 7 years ago

Prolong the trip to play pinball never sounds like a bad idea to me especially after driving 2 1/2 hours. What's a extra 5-10 minutes to drive downtown lol. Seriously though if you enjoy a good Reuben with both Pastrami and corned beef sandwich hit up greenburgs downstairs in the casino food court area.

MET, ST Prem, Avitar, Mustang, GB Pro, Iron Man, AC/DC, TWC (Refinery version), and 3 more. Can't remember. I was just there 2 days ago. Wife and I had a blast playing GB Pro.

Absolutely !!!
The pins are impeccable.
The ghostbusters plays the way it should, strong flippers and a center post. A great experience.
The operator has spent a lot of time dialing in these pins, they play as good as any I have played in a serious home environment.
The sandwich just at the bottom of the stairs is a perfect way to celebrate a great pinball day!
Just dont ask for a big kosher dill, they only have little ones

Now that I know this I exists, expect to see me there during SEMA. What are the hours?

#85 7 years ago

I'm heading over from the UK on Monday. Looking forward to checking your place out.
Deffo excited to be able to finally play GB.

#86 7 years ago

This was the first GB with center post that I've played, and it definitely made it more enjoyable. If I ever get a GB, I think I'll definitely get one. All the games were in awesome shape, loved the GoT pro too

Every GB I have played without the center post has been a frustrating experience with short ball times and annoying cheap center drains. Not even worth the money to play in my opinion.

The guy who runs the pins at NYNY has them set up as good or better than highly tweaked home games.
He really knows what he is doing.
Its a great place and a great experience.

Anyone else that has put some time in on this Ghostbusters at NYNY feel like the Slimer needs some major adjustment? Seemed like to me tonight about 75% of hits I put directly into it didn't register but the rest of the game played great.

I found the arcade at NYNY when I was staying there on business about ten years ago. It was the first time I had ever seen Scared Stiff. I played the heck out of it and loved it. When I got back to Toledo, I found one and bought it. Thank you for keeping a stellar collection in terrific condition in the wild ExtremePinball.

I don't think it was his games in there until spring or summer of 2015. I visited NYNY in January of 2015 and there were only two games there, neither of which were in very good shape. I think one even had a broken flipper rubber lying on the playfield if I remember correctly. It was a whole different story a year later when I visited, however! A beautiful set of pins now, and I can't wait to visit the Fremont location next time I'm in Vegas.

#95 7 years ago

stopped by today and man these machines are in flawless shape .....congrats on your new business Larry and James ....played the LE ghostbuster and man its a sweet game ....

#96 7 years ago

I stopped by NYNY yesterday to check out the lineup - all machines in great condition. I didn't manage to play them all, but the only problem I noticed is that the right scoop on Mustamg wasn't registering so couldn't start multiball etc.

Can't wait to check out Fremont Arcde tomorrow!
