Just brought home a GB Premium. Get it set up and expect to start playing a few games HOWEVER...
When I went into the menu to check settings first thing I see is technician alert. So I think oh here we go...

Says it’s the EOS on the right flipper so I go into the test mode and manually move the flipper and get no response but when I did it with the left flipper it would recognize when active.

So I prop up the playfield and start to look around.
First I find this little plastic piece in the cab.
I see where it was attached to the flipper mech.

I keep putting the switch back in service and the game keeps taking it out.

I trace the wires back and I see it’s connected to this board under the apron and it looks like these wires were marked...

Any thoughts?

Yes I’ll be ordering a replacement link however the switch is still not responding to manual activation and is not mimicking the left EOS when I manually activate that one.

I put the switch back in service and then break and make contact but the switch doesn’t activate. When I do the same to the left the switch test shows the left EOS response on the DMD. It’s like this right switch is unplugged or something.

Not a big deal for now. Play away, everything should work pretty much like normal. That switch just keeps the flipper from being knocked down by a ball when its held in the up position.

Get a new one but in the meantime I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Ok I don’t think I’m explaining this properly.
I’m not concerned about the piece that broke. That’s a simple fix. And I understand that piece separates the contacts of the EOS.

What I don’t understand is when I put the switch back in service and manually separate the contacts of the switch and then let them return, why doesn’t the switch register?

If I do the same thing on the left side the left EOS registers in the test.

Replacing the mechanical piece seems to be half of the fix but why wouldn’t the switch activate now when I’m manually working it with my finger?

Quoted from mrm_4:

why doesn’t the switch register?

It's broke.

Could need cleaning. Could have a broken wire there or at other switches of the same color wires. Gray/green, black/green. Or from that switch to the board it goes to.

A meter would come in handy. To check switch if it registers when closed. And then wiring continuity from switch to the board.

I get continuity on the closed switch

Because it’s a normally closed switch a put a piece of paper in between the contacts and I get continuity from the green and gray wire. 5th pin from the right on CN10. However I’m not sure where the green and black runs to. There appears to be 3 green and black wires on this board but I can’t tell if they’re the same wire coming from different sources.

According to the display, it looks like ground. =9 black-green.

Maybe follow the wire along from the EOS and see where it goes.

Does the other EOS have a black-green wire ? Then you'd know that side is ground. Likely the same as the other black-green wires.

That is black wire with green stripe .

I need to re-evaluate life....
So I kept tracing and look what I found over on the left EOS
