Joust looks cool, never actually played one though. Is it all it is cracked up to be? The idea is awesome of a head to head pinball table. Someone should make a modern one.

Is is more of a novelty, or something that would be legitimately fun to play on a regular basis with friends?
I ask because I'm seriously considering making one for fun. Seems like a lot less work than a full-blown machine. Would give me something to do with my micro-controllers and spare parts.
