Quoted from mcluvin:No wonder everyone is moving to Florida.
That's one reason.
Quoted from poppapin:That's one reason.
Oh you'll give it back in home insurance rates and AC bills.

I'm hoping Ford farts around enough that I can order a Stout at this point.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Sounds like the wheel ABS sensors, about $100 each. They went bad in my Jetta, took about 15 minutes per wheel to replace. VW / Audi uses the ABS sensors in lieu of in tire mounted TPMS sensors. They have the computer calculate RPMs (since the ABS sensor is there already) and it can tell the driver if a tire has more or less pressure than the others based on individual RPMs. It really caused havoc at Discount Tire when that system came out.
What freaked me out was when the sensors were going bad, sometimes my driver door would close when I was out of the vehicle and it would lock the doors. I still don't understand THAT German logic! It was the old style ignition that required a key so when it did that... ooops, no getting back in w.o. a spare key! Luckily it only did that at home so was an easy remedy, otherwise I'd been more than a little upset.
Not all VW/Audi's. I just bought a 2023 Audi that has individual wheel tire pressure sensors. Just like in the early 2000's. Great for acvurate tire pressures. Until the internal battery goes bad. Now that the systems are mandated, you can't easily bypass the system to eliminate the yellow warning either.
Two weeks ago took a road trip from St. Louis to Orlando. Cheapest gas was Kentucky at $2.99 a gallon at a regular station. First time I filled a tank for under 3 on a vacation in three years. Coming back got it at 3.14. My main goal is to never have to gas up in Illinois.
Right now regular in St. Louis is about 3.30.

Price similar to what it is in Pa.

Must be a higher end model? My 2020 A3 still uses the ABS sensors.
Quoted from Pinplayer1967:Gas used to be cheap here but not anymore.
"They get their gas primarily from a refinery in El Paso," AAA national spokesperson Andrew Gross said. "That refinery is down for maintenance. So, they're having to bring in more expensive gas from other places."
That sucks! Hopefully it will be up again soon.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Must be a higher end model? My 2020 A3 still uses the ABS sensors.
All Audi's are "higher-end", but yes, it's an RS model. They have transducers in the tires for the TPMS.
Quoted from DarthPaul:Getting 50.1 mpg on my 2020 Fit, on snow tires.
Getting 13mph on my 2012 Land Cruiser daily driver, but gas today was $2.99 at Sam's! Nice, I thought gas would have gotten jacked up this weeken because of people traveling, but this is a long time low here.
I was able to change out the crappy "safety" nozzles on my Midwest cans to some new old stock Blitz nozzles I found on eBay. The threaded nut does not fit, but the trick is re-using the nut that matches the can and just swapping the nozzle. Many of these are the same diameter.
Quoted from Jamesays:4.25 today
I can only upvote that high of price because it's a down trend for you.
Quoted from MrBally:$5.19 last night in Banning for premium....
[quoted image]
Pretty sure if you went to Baker on I-15, the prices would be similar.
Ludlow on I-40, a LOT higher. That's what happens when you get gas in BF Nowhere.

How much of that is taxes? Compared to other states ? I paid about $3.49 here in Michigan.
Quoted from bob_e:How much of that is taxes? Compared to other states ? I paid about $3.49 here in Michigan.
No idea. It was at a Tribal gas station where they charge a few cents less in fake taxes that they keep.
Costco here in Vegas is charging $4.259 for Premium. Chevron stations are charging $4.69 for Premium.
For the first time in a long time I see gas and diesel both at $3.25. Is diesel demand down that much because shipping, cardboard and pallets are down?
Interesting!

Spoiler alert, it's now Washington State.
We have been back over $3 a gallon at Sam's club last couple weeks. Still better than last summer at this time, but was hoping for being in the 2's as a normal thing again.

Ethanol free? You're drinking doing the yard work. It's running on ethanol.

Ford F&$%#g farted alright.
I was all geared up after owning 2 Toyota trucks when I discovered the Maverick. I was all in. Was ready to plunk down my 1G to reserve knowing FULL WELL that I could easily wait for 17 months. At the dealer I asked how much it will be when it arrives. WITHOUT hesitation and testosterone in his voice he said "10 grand over MSRP" GFYS my mind said.
I went home and discovered the Stout in the design phase. I'll gladly wait.

You probably aren't getting a Hybrid Mav in 2024 unless you are a 2023 carryover order, or pay out the azz. Ford gave the dealers their allocation numbers for 2024 a week ago. Most dealers have more carryover orders from 2023 than allocations for 2024 Hybrids. I'm lucky. My dealer has 8 Hybrid allocations to spare for 2024.
You need to find a different dealership. Go here, https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/ and checkout Chapman Ford or Long McArthur. You aren't too far from Chapman. Those are both big dealerships that do a lot of out-of-state business. Good luck!
over the last 4200 miles I have average 32.0 mpg GMC Terrain just about twice my old truck. Chevy Silverado
local gas about $3.60 and $3.30 at costco.
So what does the hybrid Maverick cost? and typical fuel economy?
Oof, 3.95 per gallon today for 93. Up over 0.30 per from just a couple days ago. Can't find the article now but they are blaming our recent heat.
I'm sure it has nothing to do with our oil reserves being depleted for no good reason. Everyone in the US experienced the price hike at the same time, not just the warm areas. Confirmed by reports via YouTube comments and other sources. I was blessed to be able to stock up at $3.04 just before it increased to $3.45 in my area. I was at the last high volume station in town that had not gone up yet, and the lines were piling up quick. I would strongly encourage anyone who doesn't have gas cans to get 2 or 3 5-gallon cans and just fill those up when it's cheap. Last time I did this I saved nearly $6, like getting 2 gallons free. Beats any loyalty program I know of. It also insulates you from supply interruptions like those "cyber attacks."

Saudis and Opec are cutting production too.
Quoted from MrBally:Needles, California within the hour.

Holy shit that blows, I was pissed when it recently jumped to 3.95 around me. There's a place that does cash for 3.67 where I got gas today.
Thanks #$!&$nomics.
Quoted from MrBally:Twelve miles from Needles in Fort Mohave(sic) Arizona. Half the price for Regular. Unfortunately, I use Premium. Yes, I bought gas here.....
