Read an article about Stern today in the Chicago-Sun times. Very interesting read.
Gary Stern is retiring "after a lifetime" in pinball, and happy to have George Gomez replace him. He said the Stern legacy is in "exceptional" hands.
Gomez said that he has many plans for the company, the first being changing the name to "Gomez Pinball, Inc."
Looking ahead, Gomez said players can expect an LCD screen later this year, and starting in 2019, Pin2K-like pinball games.
"Williams patents will have run out on this by 2019, so there's nothing stopping us from doing that. It's my baby after all, and it's high time it was brought back."
Gary Stern expects a smooth transition in April. His first destination after retiring? "Belize!", he says with a smile.
