Its pretty well known that Sterns MPU100 boards are direct rips of the Bally boards. As mentioned, Stern had to pay a fee per game made to Bally as part of a settlement. Hey - that might have been cheaper than designing their own boards.
Then Data East (aka Stern part 2) doubled down and copied Williams Sys11 boards design for DE games. Lol!
