    Hello I am Gary's Daughter, Martha.

    I wanted to share with the community that Gary Stern has officially passed on. Last night he died after an apparent cardiac arrest. I along with the family is devastated, and I ask for your privacy during this time, as word will spread quickly. I know he was very well known within this community, so I know I wanted to break this news to you all.

    The services will be held privately and for family and friends only.

    This is very sad news. Gary had more to do with keeping pinball alive during the dark years than anyone.

    What a shock. I never met the man, and don't own any Stern machines. But in photos, stories, and promos I've seen he looked like the definition of "young at heart".

    He's certainly left a monumental legacy and I've enjoyed the Sterns I've played. We all owe a debt of thanks and gratitude. Make sure your beer seals are tight and pour a 40 tonight...

    That is awful, awful news. My sincerest condolences to the Stern family for their loss during this tough time.

    Gary was such a valued member of the pinball industry and hobby and will certainly be missed. He kept the game alive in some of its darkest times and we might not be seeing such a renaissance now had Stern Pinball not kept on producing back in the 2000s.

    So sad. RIP Gary.

    This is terrible news. Please pass on our condolences to your family. Your dad did many great things for the pinball hobby. Without him pinball would look very different today.
