Does anyone have experience with carpet in their garage gameroom? I'm looking to upgrade from bare concrete. I have about 350sqft to do. Tiles seem prudent in case I tear into something while working on/moving games, unless there is a good reason to not use tiles. Right now my frontrunners are cheapo commercial carpet tile (<$400), TuffCarpet (~$1100), and SnapCarpet ($1500+).
Not super picky on price, but I don't want to overspend for no reason. I have swatches of TuffCarpet which doesn't seem much more exciting than the cheap stuff, it's just thin carpet with adhesive on the bottom. Certainly not a 3x increase in quality. SnapCarpet just seems like thin carpet glued to fancy tiles. Anyone use any of these?
Edit: Well, I've been doing research all day. I think Tuff/SnapCarpet are out due to cost, more padded tiles are much cheaper.
Ordered samples of Eco Soft Tiles to see if it's durable enough for a garage gameroom: http://www.rubberflooringinc.com/interlocking-tile/foam/eco-soft-carpet-tile.html
Otherwise probably going with a cheap "padded" option that at least has a backing: http://www.deanstairtreads.com/DIY-Carpet-Tile-Squares-Sahara/dp/B00CP8LZA4?class=quickView&field_availability=-1&field_browse=5377523011&id=DIY+Carpet+Tile+Squares+Sahara&ie=UTF8&refinementHistory=brandtextbin%2Csubjectbin%2Ccolor_map%2Cprice%2Csize_name&searchBinNameList=brandtextbin%2Csubjectbin%2Ccolor_map%2Cprice%2Csize_name&searchNodeID=5377523011&searchPage=1&searchRank=salesrank&searchSize=12
