    Quoted from pacmanretro:

He did mention getting the forklift attachment

It's going to hurt when he mounts that plaque on it. But hell I wish mine was big enough for it's own plaque

Specially if he uses a 6" spike.

might be the most begrudging and painful upvote I have ever given

    I came for the upvote.

Not that these awards mean anything (maybe to them) but do you think they voted for themselves more than once? Happy Friday!

Either lancaster county is a real shithole or they did indeed inflate the votes

    #3765 3 years ago

Girls night out? I saw the outside of that place at night. No way my wife and her friends would go there.

And do the people of Lancaster county know what a museum is?

    Quoted from edward472:

It was probably a close race for the top hands on museum....between them and the massage parlor

At least at the massage parlor someone else handles your joystick

    Quoted from captainadam_21:

I agree. While you can't change genetics, something can be done about the beard and hair. We are living in a covid world. The appearance of bad hygiene is not good for business

Bad Hygiene? Hell he’s a shopping cart and a full hefty bag away from looking homeless.

I drive by 2 days a week going in to work and not an attraction for me to drop by.

Have you ever had to stop or swerve for a tumbleweed?

Sometimes. It usually lasts just a few minutes when an escalara crosses 222.

What are the legal and/or tax implications of calling your business a 'museum?'

    #3773 3 years ago
    Quoted from NightOwl:

Doesn't matter what you call it. Unless it's registered as a non profit. It's a business.

Do they have tour guides to walk you through the exhibits?

Or do you have to go around yourself, pushing the little buttons?

I think most just take a pee and then find the exit door.

    #3776 3 years ago

Lancaster country has over 500k in population. It has to have a better museum. They had to have rigged that vote

After seeing the propieter and the inside images I wouldn’t touch any button, door knob. Toilet handle without a UV scan for bacteria and viruses.

In NY, there are certain criteria that needs to be met before an organization can to use the word museum in their name. There's a whole list of restricted words like that (like college, university, conservatory, etc). I'm not sure what the rules are in PA.

    #3780 3 years ago
    Quoted from pacmanretro:

Yes, plus a nickel unless you’re willing to crawl under.

    #3781 3 years ago

Must have been mail in ballets.

Its not even on Retirement Living's list, not even to take your grandkids to, but the Cloister is. Yippie!

Probably best exhibit there, hands down.

    #3785 3 years ago

Best Attraction, Best place for a casual date, Best place for a girls night out, Best museum. Holy Cow.

Must have missed the award for best clean toilets. Seems to be the only category they didn't get an award for.

    #3786 3 years ago

Being a local, I can assure you that "best of" thing is rigged. Its put on by the local newspaper. You don't get your name on the ballot unless you advertise in the paper, but there are write-in spots. You can very easily stuff the box if you sit around all night filling them out when you have no customers. Thats probably every day/night at Gameseum.

    #3787 3 years ago

That would be Best box stuffer.

    #3789 3 years ago

Checked out the link. They actually have some neat REAL attractions.

    #3790 3 years ago

We have some wonderful museums here.

Railroad Museum of PA/Strasburg Railroad (very good)
    Landis Valley Museum (Colonial)
    Historic Ephrata Cloister (Quakers)
    North Museum (science)
    National Watch and Clock museum
James Buchanan's Wheatland estate (worst president ever was from Lancaster!)
    Julius Sturgis Pretzel museum
    Demuth Museum

That is off the top of my head, and im sure I missed some.

There are other great attractions like Central Market downtown and numerous historical sites in the city. And our prison in town looks like a castle!

Gameseum doesn't hold a candle to any of these.

Extremely weird. “Full of players”. Yeah, right.

I never thought of using a different location's picture to advertise mine. From the video fad era, 40 years difference. Every place was packed back then.

Not to mention after closing ? That player a burglar ?

Wait, I don't remember arcades having games that close together back then. They were always spaced out to maximize space so players could walk about freely without crowding each other.

I can remember an arcade in Atlanta. It was packed. Had at least two rows of Pac Man machines. 40(maybe more). Circa 1981-1982. Everyone knew the pattern.

1979 to 1981 during the video fad, yes they were.

You'd need a lot of unused space to think like that. Back then you'd stuff more games in.

I think the top pic was probably taken with what they thought was almost no players too.

Seriously, I don't get WTF he is trying to point out...that there are two pictures of a row of arcade games? That they should both be color photos? Or that the top photo is backwards; like the other's business practices, maybe?

    #3800 3 years ago

No sweatpants in the old photo. Shorts, athletic socks, sneakers and groomed hair. And customers. Different era in the arcade for sure.
