Hey everyone. My basement gameroom needs new flooring. I'm thinking about putting in wood tile. The kind that you have to touch to make sure it is not wood.

Is this a bad idea? Has anyone else put in tile? Or even wood tile? Seems like carpet is the way to go to muffle sound, but I want my friends to be able to drop their beer and wine whenever it suits them during our parties.

Is there anything else I need to consider?

Any advice is welcome.

Yes, I meant to say porcelain tile that looks like wood. We are looking at rustic looking wood with lots of grain and pattern. No moisture problems in the basement. Also, it is a walkout.

I had not thought of glass going everywhere. I think it is worth the trade off as getting liquid (especially wine) is harder to get out of carpet than to search all over glass.

If we do this, it is going to be in the next week or two. I'll definitely add pics to the forum.

How is the look/feel of the room now that you have tile in there?
