wcs started resetting when game starts as soon as i hit either flipper so i started following the troubleshooting steps reseated connecters mounted the board tightly to the back box (it was a little loose) then if would only reset when both flippers were hit at once so i guess that improved it a little. then i spotted this burnt area right behind.. heat sync (not sure if thats what that is). question is this likely the cause of the resetting and is this something i can fix myself? ive done some soldering just not sure how i would reflow this path is there a video on how to do this? appreciate any help!

Is the orange wire behind an attempt to 'replace' the missing track?

It Is probable that the orange wire in the picture is jumpering that burned trace. I’ve seen that trace burn a few times. I don’t know why it burns other than too much current load.

That trace is not the root cause of the resets. Keep working down the checklist in the PInWiki. You will find the issue.

thanks guys yes looks like that wire was a work around that someone did previously. i poked around at a few things including a capacitor which seems swollen and the problem seems to have temporarily gone away. if it presents again ill probably check the caps next with a meter. thanks for the support!!

That looks like it is around the AC input stuff. Perhaps a bridge shorted in the past, the game was over fused, and it vaporized that trace instead of a fuse blowing.

Puffed up caps need replaced. Specially if they feel warm they are at risk of going bang. Not an easy job replacing the snap in caps on this board. The bent snap cap leads tend to rip out the plated holes and then you have more problems.
