Hi Pinsiders
I'm quite good in reading (4 Player) schematics late 1960ies / 70ies - but I always struggle with understanding the Game-Relay in older Williams pins. Please tell me - what is the purpose of the Game Relay ? Here https://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=2049 ipdb has the schematics --- I made an JPG with (hopefully all) switches on Game-Relay. Greetings Rolf

Hi Studentprince
Thanks for Your answer - the "Williams-Game-Relay" so somewhat like a "Gottlieb-1st-Ball-Relay" (?). Greetings Rolf

Hi sudsy7
thanks for the tip. amymcg - thanks for the picture in Your post-5. The ipdb-schematics has on the 110VAC-HOT-Side wire-A-90-Gray to the coils - in Your picture I see this wire to "Coil on 25-Cent-Relay" and to "Coil on Coin-Relay" - and then a BARE, NAKED wire (110VAC HOT) over to "Coil on ??-Relay, probably Replay-Relay". In another topic I already pointed out "The San Francisco pin is an old pin, VERY dangerous". We should / must close and lock and take away the keys of Backbox, Coin-Door - only we shall have access to the inside of the pin - danger, high voltage on many solder-lugs".
amymcg - I ask as sudsy7 asks: Does this ??-Relay actuate when You press the Replay-Button on the front, cabinet, a bit to the left of the coin-door ?
I checked and counterchecked Your picture, post-5 and the schematics - I "marked as found" relays --- here https://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=2049&picno=62553 we see part of the playfield with RELAYS - and here https://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=2049&picno=62552 in the Backbox are also relays. When in these places Your pin has paper-tags to the relays: Please write an list of the names of the relays - so I can proceed "checking, counterchecking with the schematics" - I would like to know of each relay in the schematics: Where in the pin it is mounted. Greetings Rolf

Hi sudsy7
Yes - (Your last sentence in post-11) Wire-Hot-110VAC-color-A-90-Gray (is insulated) comes to Coil on Coin-Relay - and instead of wire-color-A-90 there is just a BARE, naked wire leading further to Coil-on-??-Relay --- 110VAC !!! --- this is very dangerous. I also agree on "wire nut".
(((When I do try to help in others topics - I usually do write "wear rubber gloves when working in an plugged-in / toggled-on pin" - pins, especially older pins are very dangerous))) Greetings Rolf
