Picked up a Game Plan Pinball Lizard a few months back. Interesting game with quirky sounds, and definitely fun to play.

Cab has some horrible off-color touch ups on one side done by the previous owner, and the buddy I picked the game up from had already removed the mylar from the playfield. Still have to scrub the remaining glue off.

With only 1400 made, not all that much material out there on this pin. Going to do some work on it and gather some info, so thought I would start a thread so everything can be compiled in one place.

I’ve seen nicer examples, but here’s a few pics of my game:

Game wasn’t booting initially, just getting a flash and repeated clicking out of the Sigma relay on the SDU-1 driver board. Part of the MPU had to be rebuilt.

Then had no sound whatsoever once the game was playable. Sound issue was fixed by gdonovan here.

Yeah man! You can have this one when I’m done with it.

Going to post a few vids in the next day or two. Here’s a few more playfield pics...

Repainted the bee hive shooter. Polished the coin door, some new price plates from Marco. (Someone had Bally plates in there, but Game Plan plates are a different size - 4th pic below)

Just grabbed a customers to fix and shop out! Not booting and broken plastics and drop targets.

I see there was a way to convert to de targets with a spacer on the mech?

Holy crap! I totally forgot about this thread. Must’ve started it then never even posted finishing the shop job, or anything else of the game I did have.

Such a fun pin with unique sound and audio, and cool whacky art. Should’ve never sold it. I’ll have to dig out some more pictures and post.

I heard something about that a while back, but not 100%. Thanks for the dump with the other targets.

If you find anything about the DE target conversion, please post back.

So what I've heard/read so far is
DE/sega targets - are 1/4" taller, so add a 1/4" spacer between the under side mech and pf.

Someone just told me you can use the Gottlieb drops but you increase the notch size.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/game-plan-owners-club-sharpshooters-welcome/page/6#post-4793778

Also thank you to whoever runs/makes http://www.pinballreplacementparts.com/ , they have made some GP boards to keep games going.

I heard the cab to head plugs can be troublesome... is that just "repin" or is this like a new plug style works better.

I installed a set of Data East drops in a Sharpshooter a while back, and the procedure is exactly as northvibe laid out. Spacers under the mounting bracket to lower the height of the targets on the playfield. As I recall, I was able to use shorter spacers than expected and the drops work great. These are the targets I used:

https://www.pinballlife.com/sternsegadata-east-white-drop-target.html

Beware, Pinball Life also sells another drop target for Sega/DE that is wider and will not fit the same way (or work the same way)...

Now to remove that crappy sticker from the apron. I get the need to mark the game and advertise, but annoying.

After a lot of Goo Gone and careful scrubbing, it came off and looks splendid.

Then I made some custom apron cards. First both instruction and pricing cards on green stock, then tried a few other variations with game art.

I ended up preferring both green cards, evened it out more.

Are there any decals for drop targets?

#30 9 months ago

For the flipper rebuild kit, I remember reading to use the classic stern one from PBL, which coil stop, all #6 or the #6 and #8?

I haven’t come across any. I would reach out to someone that makes the padded ones and see if they can run off a set. And one for back up.

The flippers were snappy in mine, so I just tweaked them. I would call PBR and ask them. Report back if you get an answer.

if anyone has the drop targets with original faces, and could scan them in. It would be awesome to get decals made to put on the DE drops!

Hello, I just purchased a LIZARD along with a Sharp Shooter and Super Nova. All legs, bolts and washers are missing.
It's very important to me that my games are as original as possible ... it would be very nice if someone could post some pictures of ORIGINAL Game Plan-Legs and writing a notice of the exact length, and also pictures from the Leg-bolts, and Top-bolts and Washers too.

What about the color of the legs - of course I know that they are generally grey-painted, like classic Stern. LIZARD instead shows black legs on the flyer ... anyone knows if the shipped prduction-games had black legs too?

Thanks in advance, Jochen
