Why ask why? Just enjoy the show... if we can enjoy a blonde chick riding around on dragons and frozen zombies that can medal in the javelin throw and a little girl that can become a trained assassin with many faces and voices and a little boy that can become a three eyed raven and see the past and the future and a witch that can give birth to a shadow that can assassinate a king and... and... and... just enjoy the show people!

Quoted from Luckydogg420:

I don't get this. I don't think anyone is going to "win" the game of thrones.

So take the "empty throne" odds. Its not on the list but from my understanding you can put money on an "empty throne".

Quoted from Mrbill:

You think this show is going to end with the night king ending up on top?

I sure hope so!

Go Night King!

Season 8 has been a bit of a downer so far... there's still time though!

Quoted from pinmister:

The detail and CGI is amazing, especially the reality with the dragons-very impressed.

This I've been impressed with for sure... its always been top notch regarding detail and CGI but for me Season 8 has not gone well. I have been left very underwhelmed and disappointed for the most part. But with 3 episodes left I have not given up hope!

Quoted from gliebig:

All that build up over the seasons of white walkers and it's over in one battle episode.? Why am I feeling like "what was the point" of walkers in this show altogether. I think I would have liked the show more without the fantasy parts. The first several seasons were so much better.

I absolutely agree... GOT is a great great show without the whole white walker storyline. They focused very little on them for most of the series and that was a good thing IMO. Once they became the focal point here recently I started to lose that warm fuzzy feeling and the GREATNESS that made GOT was lost. In fact they could have done without the whole weird Bran Journey as well.

GOT will always be one of my all time favorites without question but the walking dead aspect of the show did absolutely nothing for me. Correction, it did do something for me but in a negative way. Here's to hoping the last three episodes get back to what made the show great in the first place!

Quoted from pinmister:

I think you lost that warm fuzzy feeling because the episodes with Walkers were not like the "Medieval Days of Our Lives". I like the way it is turning out and I like the story turning the page with some fantasy. If Dragons are cool-so are White Walkers. I can only handle so much soft porn and drama-I need some Walkers getting their heads chopped off.

Yep, probably... to each their own as they say. To me the whole white walker story line 'cheapened' or 'dampened' (not sure of the right word really) the greatness of GOT but I get that many will love it. I don't need more of the Walking Dead... I can definitely handle a few dragons, the Red Women and the Warlocks of Qarth but an army of a bazillion frozen dead people that we were told were unstoppable yet were wiped out in one episode? No thank you...

Make GOT Great Again!

Maybe this was answered but what was the significance of the Knight King taking the baby boys and turning them into ole blue eyes... did that have any real significance?

#567 4 years ago
Quoted from jgentry:

He was making the other super powered white walkers who in turn had the power to raise dead and grow his army.

Ok... but the whole white walker story line seemed like a waste. We didn't need it to make GOT a great series. I mean all the build up for that? What did they do other than bring enemies together. Eliminate the whole WW story line and you would have had an even better show.

And yes I was pretty satisfied with last nights episode. Season 8 has been a bit of a downer but last night was satisfying to me for the most part. Hopefully they don't leave too many holes for the finale.

Quoted from gdonovan:

Arya will kill the mad queen, they were a little too cute having her ride off on a pale horse.
Jon will end up on the throne.

I really hope not... way too predictable!

Quoted from Azmodeus:

I am enjoying the show.

And that's the bottom line... I am still enjoying it and no matter the outcome it will easily be one of the best (maybe the best) shows I have ever seen. Definitely top 3 or better. Season 1-4 are the best in TV history. 5-7 a step back but still top notch and season 8 somewhat disappointing but with so much to live up to it should have been expected.

Even through all my complaints I'm still really enjoying it overall... and will definitely miss it BIG TIME!

Quoted from Methos:

She never did anything that destructive.

And that's because she never had a dragon... if she had a dragon... or three she would have done much worse.

What was everyones favorite scenes in the last episode? I knowthe writing has definitely taken a step back but you can't
deny theacting, visuals and cinematography are still top notch. Although many scenes have been way to dark but it is what it is.

I loved the brothers battle scene. The backdrop, cinematography,visuals... whatever the correct term was unbelievable! High
upon the tower steps with the building crumbling, sky above, the dragon flying overhead... stunning!

Another scene that really stood out for me was when the carnagestops for just a minute as everyone waited for the next move,
then the bells tolled and they kept panning back around from Dani on her dragon, to Jon to Tyrion, to Cersei overlooking the entire
situation. No words just expressions... trying to figure out what was going on in each of their minds. (When the bells tolled
was Cersei happy and relived or disappointed it was over? I couldn't figure out what her expression and sigh meant.)

We can complain about the writing for sure but I don't think another series in history had better characters, visuals and
just overall emotions that were forced out of you. I'm definitely going to miss this show!

Quoted from Methos:

Two stand out.
1) Jamie and Tyerion's farewell
2) Aryia and the Hound's farewell
Both done well.

Yep, both good ones... and speaking of Aryia and the Hound another one that comes to mind is when Clegane was struggling to survive in the fight with his brother and Aryia was struggling to survive her escape from the city. And they kept going back and forth between them as if they had some sort of connection. Very cool...

Quoted from jgentry:

The opening of the front gates

Yep, that was another great, powerful unexpected scene...

Quoted from pauloz:

It is a great show.

One of if not the greatest ever...

Quoted from Oaken:

This is actually one of my biggest problems with the ending. I mean, the show has built up over and over that bad things happen to good people. That the characters you are cheering for have a very good chance of ending up full of holes. And then...poof, everything is coming up Milhouse.

I would agree with this. I mean I love these characters but would loved to have seen more unpredictable heart wrenching deaths. When Ned was beheaded it was shocking to me... pissed me off... didn't see it coming... made me sick... AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

Quoted from pinlink:

Breaking Bad is still #1 in my book.

I was trying to figure that out for me personally... I still think I give GoT the edge overall but BB did keep getting better and better up to the end. I felt each season was better than the last and the ending for me was very satisfying. Definitely can't say that for GoT. But for me GoT has the best characters in TV history and I think GoT had so many big emotional unpredictable moments. Plus the story lines are so vast and deep. Definitely a show to watch over and over to catch everything or almost everything.

My top 5 of all time... GoT, BB, The Wire, Sopranos and Band of Brothers.
