Quoted from Chambahz:

General consensus is that you probably never have to wax a HUO pin as it's never going to get enough wear to warrant it.
The wax also adds to the dirt buildup so overall, not great long term either.
The factory installed clear coat should be more than enough to protect your new toy.
Do swap out the pinballs every now and again. I expect every 3 months is overkill, so maybe more like 6 months?

Just my opinion. Take it as you will.

You should totally wax your game - without a doubt. Here's a great guide: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/cleaning-and-waxing-pinball-machines-vids-guide

I've been buying NIB Sterns for the last 5 years. They are in the home environment, but I play them quite a bit. They always get waxed out of the box and waxed after a few hundred plays. My Iron Man is my oldest Stern, purchased 5 years ago. That game has somewhere between 5,000 - 10,000 plays on it. Looks new because I've taken care of it and have kept it wax. Damn thing shines to this day.

Read Vid's thread in the link I posted. You'll thank yourself for doing so.

Quoted from jwilson:

I bought my TRON:LE in 2011, never waxed it and didn't change the balls until this year. Easily has similar play to your IM, and it still looks brand new.

Anecdotes aren't proof.

That's cool man. Glad it's holding up.
