Played a few games:
-First thing I noticed, as my first Spike game, was the sound fidelity was immediately better than normal. Nice and clear.
-The LE has a polished black finish, with gold chrome around the head. Very slick looking.
-The dragon heads and "fire & ice" on the sides is gold under the black finish, very nice.
-Overall a very nice looking machine. The early hate was unwarranted.
-Game plays very fast. Ships with 6 balls. Don't know how many balls the Pro supports.
-The color changing light show is pretty spectacular... I own STLE, this one is more intense. I never played early Pro versions so I can't comment on it being "too bright". In my dark arcade it is bright, and strobes, but I wouldn't call it anything other than "intense".
-the early visitors who have played it have all enjoyed it.

I really don't want to drag back all of that old stuff, so just to keep it positive I'll say this: the LE art looks way better in person than in photographs (and definitely better than in 3D renders).
Glad to hear you got it! Look forward to the reviews. No doubt it has great flow, code and looks. Just wish they integrated the show itself into the pin more. But let's enjoy what we have.

As with all your posts. Always gotta throw in something negative dont ya?
Quoted from happilymarried05::/ i need my le shipped to Raleigh please. ASAP
Nope. Sorry. Every f**cking foreign country on the planet gets theirs first. That's the advantage of having an American company--WAIT JUST A SECOND!!!

Yeah, that's all my posts. You got me.

ironic lol

I think we pay for the privilege in our prices
But seriously, you would think that the domestic orders would go out first in case there are any design flaws or parts recalls

Everyone keeps saying that but it doesn't take away from how much they missed the mark on this pin. Regardless of what the artist told you privately, he didn't do a good job with the art and no excuse will fix that. "it looks way better in person" is not an excuse
Wahoo!! Congrats Frolic! Really happy for you!
Cant wait to get mine. I'm moving to Canada to get my pins faster!

This is Frolic we're talking about....doesn't he get every new title before everyone on the planet?
Honestly, I think Stern's thinking is that with overseas orders shipping first, then Canada, then the US, the majority of customers will receive their games on or around the same time. It's most likely a fairness thing, and I totally get that.
With that said, f**k Canada. I haven't gotten my game yet...or even a phone call.
I played a bit of the pro and it was very fast. Can't wait to see some video showcasing how the mini playfield affects the flow. I am also curious to see the interaction with the throne.
Nothing better than unwrapping and setting up a long-awaited Pin. Alot more game has come to be expected from newer Sterns.

I think you're correct but missed one variable - a maniac who runs down to the distributors warehouse as soon as the truck shows up to bring it home instead of waiting for a delivery

I've never met the artist. I think you're referring to my Greg Freres thread, but he didn't do the LE art, they subbed that out to someone.
The LE backglass and side art don't photograph well at all. In person they have a very nice hand-drawn feel, but in photos they look like overly processed PR shots or something.
I'm only speaking to the LE cabinet art, nothing else.

Just be happy you don't have a 35% exchange rate premium on your new game. It's not all lollipops and sunshine here for pinball...

Just got home from Frolic's, and had a fun experience trying out his new GoT LE!
This is a very fast game with absolutely blinding LED light shows! I know Frolic's is a dark arcade, but even at Starburst on the showroom floor in full daylight, this machine pumps out the candlepower! During Blackwater multiball, the yellow flashing is like looking at a flickering sun.
I found GoT to have a lot of smooth flow to the game play. None of the shot angles feel awkward. The upper playfield on the LE didn't visually get in the way of shots on the lower playfield. The dragon flapping its wings is a more smooth movement than on the Pro. The upper playfield is a lot of fun, and quite fast too. I also liked the 'backhand-ability' (for lack of a better word) of the shots on this game. For some reason, I found it easier to hit the lock ramp from the left flipper on the LE than I did on the Pro.
From my first impressions, this seems like it's going to be a really fun game!
Big thanks to Frolic for the invite tonight!
first brief video of my friend Mike playing. When it's quieter I'll set up my camera to record a game properly.
Those color changing lights look amazing! I play in the dark too and I cannot wait to be blinded by this thing
Wow, I love how the upper playfield completely changes color when a ball arrives. Congrats on a great looking game. I've had the pro for a few weeks now and still can't wait to play it whenever I get a chance. We've had to limit how often our 4 yo son plays it . Thanks for posting a quick video.

Wow those color changing LEDs are intense. How does it compare to stle LEDs?
Thanks for posting. I like it when u get your game. Tells me mine should be here a week later. I can't wait!!!
Another vid. I am not a great player and do not know the rules so I did not get deep but there is 1 multi all in here.
Quoted from bigd1979:So every light is rgb on premium/le?
Yup. The lights seem to move faster than Star Trek which seems more to wash. It makes it more intense. This is a great game.

Thanks Chris - so nice to see longer GoT LE gameplay videos with audible sound finally!
I'm looking forward to playing an LE on location near me soon. Congratulations on another fine game acquisition!

O very nice it looks pretty intense and smooth .. so even the gi is rgb like full throttle or just all the inserts?
Edit- Never mind looks like gi is one color only. Im not sure what id rather have changing gi and some rgb inserts or all rgb inserts and no no changing hmmm....
The upper play field has rgb spotlights which can change its color. The gi is white. As a full throttle owner where all the gi color changes I've been critical that the side effect of that is a dim game. overall I think sterns strategy is best which is to have a bright game.
