Nice simple idea. Seems like it would be a bit more tolerant of off-axis hits.
4 screws, and 4 fiddly spacers. You might have better access for your fingers by removing the upper playfield too.
ardarvin, you'd achieve a similar, but much less clunky result with Pinballmike's solution back in the original post of this thread. Effective, 100% removable w/no trace.
You can use just about ANYTHING where Mike used a junk flipper return spring bracket. I used a section of semi-rigid plastic tubing with a couple holes drilled thru. I did not try any lubricants as others have reported - I want to avoid gunking things up over time.
It will be very interesting to see the hit rates folks will see with the battering ram mod!
