Common misunderstanding. The rectifier board does not produce 5vDC for the MPU, the Solenoid driver board does. Voltage travels from the rec. to the SDB…. I would check the test points on the SDB, board in the upper right of the game. If they are ok, check them at the MPU.

The LEDs on that board would suggest the voltages are ok but I would test them to be certain.

Quoted from tomh52722:

Now I am really confused. I was just about to buy another rectifier board until I saw your post. I went to read both as you suggested but there don’t seem to be any test points on these newer rottendog boards. I do see that the self tests look good with the led lights being on but I feel like I should still tests them if I could figure out how. Are you suggesting I don’t get a new rectifier board? Thank you

The test points are right next to the LEDs on that board. The MPU test points are on the lower left.

The rectifier board is not going to resolve anything but if you want to replace it, that’s not a bad idea.

The readings you got on the SDB are fine.

It seems at this point your game is not booting. See if you can find 5vDC on the MPU. (I see the test points in the lower left of the MPU in your picture.) Use those and confirm they are all present.

If they are all present, you must have a deeper MPU problem.

I added what to try in my post above.

Nope. That’s just the sound board. The game will boot even if you disconnect it.

Also, the test points from board to board are not the same.

The MPU is having problems, try to firmly press down on all the ICs and confirm they are firmly in their sockets. See if there is any change.

Quoted from emsrph:

To add further…if the ribbon cables are plugged in wrong it may caused the MPU not to boot. Make sure they are not off by a row or a pin.

Yes, but he didn’t move them since it was working.

I though it booted in the first post. Either way, good work! Does the game immediately go to test mode once it boots? It should not. You should be able to add a credit and press start button when boot sequence completes and the credit/match display shows 00/00.
