Working on wireforms to replace the side plastic ramps. I will be selling these soon. My priority is Mandalorian orders i will do some of these to break up the week. Pricing to follow. Thanks for the request to look at this game. 90 percent on left side. Need to make brackets and mounts for flashers.

The first right side looked of due to sharp turn. I just started another and this style of ramp is easier to mass produce. Only issue is now I have to do left side again to match this right.

Quoted from Markharris2000:

One day and you have a prototype already??? Wow!

I need to do as much as I can in one day due to other customer orders. But, thanks.

Quoted from Markharris2000:

Is there a creative story to the widened lower part of each? Are they just art or functional?
These are amazing!

The ball drops are from the mandalorian rails I make as I know they work. The ball gets knocked down by upper rail, it takes the ball impact and also directs its downward. I just wanted to make a set that worked and get the basic design down and go from there. The drops might change.

I still need to do flasher mounts and locations. I made poly transition adapters for the rails. I will need to get hardware for the slings as the stud height is too small to mount anything on them. I have long screws going through everything on top. I want to make this easy to install.

Thanks for the compliments. I enjoy making wireforms. And it helps pay the bills. I need to get what I want to sell down to a formula that is Material and labor costs. I charge $50 an hour for the welding. So, for me to get the price right I have to make a few sets to get average time. I will get there soon.

Quoted from DaddyManD:

Been a GOTG owner since 2018 and am definitely interested in these! Beautiful work!
I would agree with prior comments that if possible having the lower return area be slimmer and just drop the ball where it goes (Ala AIQ) vs the larger design you did for Mando would be cool to see. But you are the artist and look forward to seeing final product!

I did not like the look either. It was just a proven drop. I had to figure out the best diameter die to shape it. It has to be bigger than drop hole, but not sure how close I could go.. It looks like this form will work! And I trimmed off the rings that were just to hold together. This is most likely the design I will sell.

Quoted from Nazz26:

I think it looks great. Excellent and talented work. How do you plan to incorporate the 3 red dome lights onto the wire forms?

I just need to weld brackets.

Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

Great question. I am sure someone can figure that out.

$50 an hour to tig weld labor.
Cost to be added:
Hardware to change out front sling bolts as they are too short.
stainless rods
Argon gas ( number of welds x 10 / $49.00)
Polycarbonate sheets for adapters

I need to make 3 more sets to see what the average time is making them. The first is not a good measure as I have to figure things out on the fly. Now I just need to replicate.

Mandalorian rails take me 4 hours and I sell those at $220 shipped. Its all about the time. I will update and give a price when I bang out another 3 sets.

Quoted from playtwowin:

Please count me in. If you are starting a list. Is there a difference between premium and the pro?

These are measurements right above mounting screws or playfield landmarks. I would have to see a premium in person to verify, but maybe this answers the question.

Attempting hands.. let see how this looks? And I only have 23 more star wars rails to make, so these will be up soon.

I was asked about putting hands on the rails. I agreed to try and see the look. Still adding body to the hands but heres a quick look

Not sure... I would have to have more body going up to the head for this to work visually..Thoughts?

Quoted from Markharris2000:

I want to like it, but I agree with you about the visual that you'd probably need more artifacts going up the arm to really tie-in. Perhaps simpler might be better (and save you some TIG time!)

Simpler basic hands just dont do it for me. First 2 pictures. I only looked into this as it was a request. I think the only way this works is whole hog. For it to work visually for me is to extend the top of hand pieces all the way to head (picture 3). And for my taste I would have to make shoulders around the head to really make it work. I can see what I want it to be in my head.

Quoted from bobukcat:

I agree, think it just clutters up the look and less is more, one of the main attractions to me of these wireforms is it reduces the amount of material (plastic) you have to look through to see the playfield / ball.

I agree with all the comments. I only tried as it was a request. I made a hand that I could lay on top to see if it worked, so it was easy to see.

I am trying to bang out the mandalorian rails so I can move on to these. Looking forward to something different.

Quoted from miracleman:

FWIW I think your basic wireform ramps look GREAT, and I've told anyone with a Mando to check yours out, will do the same with GOTG.
I just feel you get off track with any of the add-ons: dragon, hands, whatever, as they are impressionistic, and without factory plastics or shell they don't instantly convey what they are. Plus you're making a ton of more work for you

You never know if something works unless you try. And sometimes it works. (At least for me). It really depends on the machine. Gnr snake stands out and its easy to see. The Discovery machine I made is also very easy to see and goes with the theme. I like the dragon and actually sold a dragon. Everyone has different tastes. I don’t mind sharing my work. Surreal is listening to a podcast and getting beat up by a designer for altering his machine, while working on it. Yes that happened!

Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

Definitely doesn’t hurt to try. It can look better or worse than on paper. A lot of times you need to see it mocked up to tell of it works or not.

Thanks. That was a better explanation of what was in my head. And on that note, I am starting the template board. And i am going to try hexagons as the supports for these wireforms. I am also thinking if this looks good converting the flashers with different plastic shapes at one of the hexagons like its the portholes. We will see.

Dude, your work is fantastic. I don’t have the game, but kinda dig the hands. Might look cooler powder coated a brownish color? Prolly be a big pita to do.. typically I’m not even a fan of powdered rails, I likes em shiny!

Thanks. Might make a different approach on the positions of the hands for a interested customer.

I will offer the basic set as shown in the proto type wireform and the hexagon type as well. I want to work out the plastic I see in my head for the portal I think it might work out.
...
Extremely crude poly cutout over portal. I would like to get printed artwork close to screenshot on them. Not sure how, but I will look. If I can do that, then the flashers would light up portals and I think that would look awesome.

Looking fantastic! The hexagons look great. Your doing an awesome job. Love watching your progression and process. Well done and nice choice with the hexagons. Thank you for doing this for us Guardians owners.

Well to be honest I am now an owner. I really enjoy the game. I bought it to just make the wireforms, but its a fun game and I am keeping it. The hexagons go with the theme and I think they look good. I want to keep on it, I just need to finish the Mandalorian run.....

Quoted from Markharris2000:

The first picture in this note has two of the left ramps sitting on the board. It's pretty amazing to compare the left one which seems to be an early prototype to the right one as the design was refined which appears to be the near-final product. You are now definitely the the commercial grade zone for look and function.

Thanks. The first wireform I make for anything is just to get the travel and placements down. The Mandalorian rails went through 6 revisions along the way, so these might change as needed. But, the hexagon looks so much better than open rails.
I appreciate the commercial grade comment. I think I earned it today. I only have 8 more Mando sets to do now. I spent 4 hours just forming all the parts to be welded this morning. And I blew through a tank of argon that I just got Friday. (I keep 2 for that reason). Here are shots of the “factory” (garage) from todays grind.

One man assembly line. Love it! Can these be chrome plated or powered coated? Thanks for the updates, much appreciated.

You would have to verify with platers. It can be done but it needs to be done correctly.

I picked up a cricut 3 machine. I want to see if it can do whats in my head. The hexagons are portals and I want to have hexagon shaped printed images of that portal around the wireform and tie in flashers to back light them. If I can figure that out I think it could really “tie the room together” (lebowski!). Just need to experiment.

Mando is complete. Retooling the garage for guardians. Starting right ramp. I am trying to figure out an easier way to make the hexagons as I did them with a hammer and die for sharp corners. And I ordered the boxes for shipping.

I could not find a suitable stud for sling mounting. I removed the stud and installed a 6:32 3 inch from under the playfield then a nut holds down sling. Above it are adjustable nuts to fine tune the height. I really dig this. Can alter ball drop without bending! The rail is now hard mounted to 3 different points and free supported at transition. Good day today. I really enjoy a different project. Mando was great, but draw or build the same thing over 100 times it got boring towards the end. A great problem to have.

A little oragami with paper to figure out cutting and molding hexagon plastics. I will try and get a good print sticker to go on it, but the flasher led fits inside. The regular flasher domes just clash and look out of place.

I dropped a note to HemiOrange09 who does powder coating of ramps. Are these made of steel or stainless steel? I hear powder coating is harder on stainless, but not sure of that. I will let you know what I hear back.

303 stainless. Its tricky, but doable.

I was asked about the welds. I am not as precise as a machine, but I do the best I can weld by hand. Here are close ups of the one in progress. These are still not cleaned up, but you can see the welds. I stone, sand and polish them when they are done. I have not done any of that to these yet. When I am done I will post the pictures of them polished. The other last 2 pictures are a mando rail that is sanded and polished.

I still need artwork on a sticker, but I am leaning towards this as replacement for flasher domes. Its very simple to installl and led flasher board mounts on top. I am not having any luck with my printer. I am looking at a newer one just for this add on. I can weld mounts for flashers as they are. I will do that to my first rail so you can see the difference between them visually and then you can make the choice. I am trying to keep the costs down within reason as the labor hours are heavy making these. I know theres a tipping point on pricing for mods. I want to find the spot that works for buyers and for my labor.

And any suggestions on flashers. (style, locations or mounting) please post. I am at a blockbwith the flashers.

Quoted from Markharris2000:

Would accommodating the existing flashers be possible if you welded two or three "tabs" to the existing wire (approx in the current locations of the flashers) and then had a simple flat piece of PETG made to match? (Upkick in Dallas can knock those out with polished edges in any shape in minutes). The existing flashers could connect to the 4 new custom PETG pieces, and the PETG pieces could be mounted to the new tabs with matching mounting holes.
Thoughts?

Putting tabs on the rails is no problem. I guess I need to put original flashers on the rail to know for sure.

Is there an order list for these yet? Look great

First, thanks! And I have a interested list and I just added you to it. I should have the designs done soon and then I can figure out the pricing. I will change the title of post to gotg wireforms $xxx shipped once I get there. Should be very soon.
I am picking up an iron man tomorrow and that kills the day. I owned a iron man for 3 days back before the vaults. I bought it because I never saw one for sale. I posted it for trade just to see if anything interesting came up. At the time iron mans were very pricey. I managed to trade it for a williams indiana jones which blew my mind. I paid $3700 for the iron man. I really miss those times! I said if I ever saw another that was worth getting I would. I would love to rail it, but the ramps are all one piece plastics.

There will be a choice of this type of rail, which is just a standard upper and lower rail with hexagons on them. These will be cheaper as the labor is cut down alot.

Standard left side rail price broken down below. I will make the right side tomorrow and we will have total cost for a set of standard rails. Included in the labor is sanding, stoning, polishing and playtesting.

Left rail total costs.

Right side is a hair more involved with the extra bends. $345 for a set of standard rails. Shipping costs to your address will be added when they are ready to ship.

The box is 36x12x6 and is 4 pounds. Shipping will be ups ground and added to the $345 for the rails. This box costs $45 to ship to California, $25 to Chicago so it makes more sense to pay exact shipping for pricing.

Great work! Love the process and all the iterations you’ve gone through to get to where they are. They look fantastic.

Thanks Taylor I appreciate that. The only way to get here is to fail a bunch of times. I am happy with these as well.

And prepping for next week, starting with flasher mounts. I should start shipping by next weekend at the latest.

First set is done and ready. This is what they all will look like going forward. I need to take install pictures with notes for installation. Its easy, but pictures go along way. I am asking if your still interested in them with the pms when they are ready. If your dropping out please let me know. I had a few people on mandalorian rails that just disappeared and would not answer pms. I am doing the same one week to reply as I did with those. If you dont answer in a week I go on to next person on the list. You can still buy a set it just will be delayed until I make another set.

Any chance we could see a video of someone actually shooting the ramps?

My aim sucks and my coil stop rubbers are shot. Nice spring noise! But, heres a quick video.

#124 2 years ago

Instructions to install ramps:

Turn off machine and remove the balls. Do not do any part of this with the machine tirned on. Bad things can happen electrical shorts being number 1.

1: Remove both ramps and wiring to flashers.

2: Remove flashers from the ramps. Place plastic dome on top of wireform platform while placing the flaser board underneath wireform platform see pictures. Center the flasher on platform, ensure flasher board is centered and tighten the retaining screws.

3: Remove the two front sling plastics and rubber ring. Then remove the front sling stud screw completely and set aside.

4: Raise the playfield and thread the included 3 inch screw into the the playfield threaded hole insert. Tighten that screw until it is flush with the bottom of insert and tight.

5: Lower playfield and put the plastic spacer over the screw that is now sticking up above the playfield. Put one of the included washers over the spacer and then install the nut down to the spacer and make sure it is tight. Verify the spacer is locked down and not loose. If so tighten, it just needs to be snug, so dont go crazy. Then place the large washer (plastic protector one) over that nut. Put rubber ring back over the sling, then place sling plastic back into place. Place included washer or reuse original washer over sling plastic. You should now see a secured stud sticking up in the front.

6: remove the 2 screws that are holding a square metal plate on each of the plastic ramps by backbox. Take one of the included plastic adapters and place it underneath the ramp to align with the two screw holes. The holes on the adapter are threaded. Just hold adapter under the plastic ramp and install the 2 screws that you removed into the new adapter. The bracket has a L shapped design with a cut out on it. You want the cut out facing you or towards the front of the machine. The rails will instert into this cut out. The 2 screws just need to be snug. Try not to over tighten them.

7: Install the right ramp by placing the wireform into the cut out opening in adapter while aligning the other mounts on rail so they all are lined up. Start at the sling. The bracket should be hung over that new installed stud. Place included hardware large washer and included smaller washer over the stud. Install the threadlock nut down the stud, but leave it loose for now.
Next, use included screws and washers to go through the metal brackets on the rail into the existing squared mounting bracket studs on playfield. You want all three of the mounting points started but not toghtened. Look at rail and center the ball drop hole on lower end of rail to be centered in the lane. When its centered tighten that thread locked nut down until it is secured. Now tighten the other bracket screws. You can move the rails around for alignment if needed. Make sure all the mounts are tight you also need to thread flasher wiring through playfield.

8: install the left ramp in the same manner as the right. Same procedure as above. The left has two mounts, sling and one mid bracket. You can reuse the spotlight screw or replace it, but that spotlight is part of mount on rail now.

9: raise the playfield and plug everything back in.

10: put balls back in and play the game. The rails are very adjustable in the drop. I playtest them on my machine and they should be good for you. If you need to adjust them you can lightly bend the upper rail up or down in small increments. There is a sweet spot. The upper rail not only stops the ball, but it also strikes the top of it sending it downward.

I am putting these on hold. I am in the process of getting a plasma cutting table. The machine will be able to make the hexagons and save me alot of labor and agravation. They are very hard to make and I spend way too much time on the hexagons. I can cut stainless steel plates with perfect shapes with it and save time. As a result I will adjust the price lower than I am at now. I had 14 people drop out on the list. I have not lost that many on the other projects, so this project needs to be redone to lower the costs and labor time. Be patient and I will be getting back to them with the redisgned forms and price posted when I get there. Hopefully this makes sense to anyone still interested in these.

How's it going with the plasma cutting table? Sounds like a cool machine.

Its in my garage and ready to use, I just have to catch up on orders before I kill time learning it. I also need to plot out star wars pro ramps for the first cuts. Very busy and very lucky.

Yes I did sell them a few months ago. The hexagons are very time consuming to make with rods and I wanted to try to use cut out stainless plates to cut down labor time, but the price of the plates is on par with the cost of labor to shape them with rods. I was trying to get the cost down as it was $345 for the set. This has been put on hold as I do not know what to do with these now. I lost alot of people at that price point.

I sent you a pm.
Did you ever put them in with the groot hands? How about the Ronan hammer mod?

Only made a set for a stock pro. I would need a machine with those on it to check or alter rails as needed.

Are these still being made. I’ve been sick for a few months n had forgot about them I would love to have a set.

I am open to doing them again. The only way I can is with the machine in my shop. I sold it last year as I had a list of over 30 drop to 13 when I posted the $345 shipped price. If I can find a pro gotg I will do another small run if needed.

i have that same tig but have only used it for aluminum. would you share your setting with me? amps/balance , gas and tungsten type? i have some stainless projects i need to zap up but i make a mess of them when i DC tig.

Gold band lanthanated 1.5% rod. A must for stainless steel. 1/8 rods I am at 139 amps, but pedal outuput as needed and you must use 100 percent argon.

Quoted from KING-HENRY:

I am very interested..but I have a question..what if the cost was a tad lower without the polishing? I am wondering because I would want to powdercoat these, if you do another run...or not...depends on a lot of things..ordering my NIB GoTG today!!! These look badass ! (i'd run pinduino lights around all the hexagons). and maybe some shade of hot orange glitter power coat.

I am up to getting the game again. I wanted to make stainless ramps with wireforms just for the look. That would be more expensive with the costs of plate, but I think it would look amazing. See my Indy ramp as example and imagine that stainless ramp on gotg.

Not polished subtract $20. I still have to sand and stone them regardless.

Any leads on gotg within a few hours drive of central NJ just let me know.

There’s no doubt u will get alot of orders I believe n I’m one of them

I got alot of complaints and drop offs at the $345 shipped price last year so I sold the machine as a result. I also had issues with the hexagons. Very hard to make and time consuming. If I find a pro I will pick it up. I just wont be able to do orders until I come to a decision or complete the toy story mod first. My distributor does not have one and his prices are better then the rest. Looking for a used one now.

#165 1 year ago

Picking it up this weekend. Give me a few weeks as I have to finish or make a decision on toy story slink mod. I am leaning towards only making 10 sets for toy story. But, not sure yet. Either way I will make these again for guardians. Thanks for the renewed interest. Please pm me if you are interested if you have not said so here in the past week.
Thanks! Jay

Side note:

Great day today almost done with Stern Indy mod. 3 new ramps over just 1!

I got lucky as I sold the proto types and I thought all of the other rails to a guy that wanted them. I just found a few in various states of building. So, I am very happy as I do not need to figure out the travel paths again. 10 hour car ride Saturday is the only thing I dread. My cut off is usually 3 hours one way. My body will be shot, but the $5600 price was too good not to buy it.

Quoted from Travahontas:

I dig the art theme consistency with the hexagons!

Thanks. I am improving them a little when I have time. I will make stainless plate ramps for my machine and post pictures when I do. The mod for sale will be just for wireforms and adapters. The stainless ramps are for myself as the costs will be very high as the ramps are huge. Stainless steel is expensive in 20 or 18 gauge. I will calculate a cost when I build mine. If I decide to sell the stainless ramps as a add on I am limiting them to 10 sets only. Fun game and the seller was awesome. The drive was not!

Quoted from Hadojae:

I have some of the first run of wireforms, love them. Would definitely like a set of ramps if possible!

I need to figure out costs of them. They are expensive because of the material used and labor involved. But, if I do sell them I am only making 10 sets of ramps.

Quoted from big-c66:

Oh yeah looking good

Thanks. I still have to mount 3 other flashers, but you can see it.

Quoted from KING-HENRY:

would you powder coat just the wire forms, or also powder the ramps, and/or just the bottom of the ramps as well? I'm curious, as I like the metal ramps, but would like the wire forms to be coated.

I do not have anyone that I deal with that does powder coating. Its a special process with stainless steel and would need to be done by a vender with experience. I sell them polished only. Hope that explains it.

I found the template board! I thought I scrapped or painted over it. I am so fortunate with Mandalorian orders and I am closing in on 200 sets sold. I have another group of Mando orders that I am doing this week. I will start on guardians in a week or two. Compare the mando template to guardians. Its crazy.

So how do I get a set?

I will start working down the list soon and I will reach out with pm’s when they are boxed up and ready to ship. I only take payment when they are completed. Your already on the list.

Quoted from KING-HENRY:

Loganpinball I am guessing you can buy the ramps and the wireframes separately? I know I'm in line for the ramps, but I don't think I want to do the return wireforms at this time.

Yes. And I am only going to make 10 sets of ramps in total. Wireforms as many as requested.

#210 1 year ago
Quoted from alleycat-pinball:

I'm interested in a full set, ramps and wire forms. I've got wire forms for my Mando, your work is great.

Thank you. I appreciate that alot. Been in a funk (toy story) so thanks.

Quoted from atrainn:

I'm definitely interested in the ramps too, though knowing a ballpark price before I commit would be cool

I have to build another set to figure out labor. The first set takes longer as I have to figure it out. I need to rotate a mounting point and make small adjustments. Once I have that solved I can see the average labor time by building a few of them. It is $50 an hour plus materials. My metal supplier has 303 stainless in large sheets of 20 gauge. It costs more than 304 which is carried by alot of venders. But, 303 welds better and is more durable. I also build off interested (lists), but take no money prior and you can always pass on it. I said limited ramps to 10 sets as they take a good amount of effort and time to make. I hope that helps or explains it.

#211 1 year ago
Quoted from Markharris2000:

Are you getting close to an estimate on the final cost of the ramps set?

Material costs just for the two ramps. Does not include labor.

The stainless plate is .96 cents per inch. (Includes taxes on the metal. Not shown in picture.

Left ramp:
$27.96

Right ramp:
$36.87

$63.93 total ramps material costs.

I will post labor times soon. I need to do atleast 2 sets to get average. I just want to demonstrate the costs of the ramps without the labor. Cutting, sanding, welding, polishing and playtesting adds up quickly. The toy story 4 slink plate mods takes 5 hours and is a miserable thing to build and I have grown to hate that machine as a result.
I dont have that same problem building the wireforms or ramps for gotg. I enjoy making them! A bucket full of hexagons made today..

I put the plastic ramps back in. This is the $345 shipped version. I cut and shapped metal plates with guide holes for the wireforms to install on plastic ramps. The use of the existing adapter is incorporated. The adapter gets turned around and my adapter goes between the plastic ramp and the plate with threaded holes. Very simple and effective. I am going to make the requested wireforms first. Theres 15 on the list currently. After those are done I will make the ramps.

Rush has cut name across ramp. As long as it is deburred and sanded it will not affect the ball travel. I can also move cuts to edges and the ball will not be able to roll over cuts. This was a idea that just hit me. No planning just see it mode.. looks amazing in person. My wife loves it.

Loganpinball that looks amazing..game-changer..BUT..are those just random cuts, or do these represent any symbols from the Orb, or anything else from the GotG film??? If it had something to do with the film, SIGN ME UP.

Just for myself. The outlanes show streaking energy. I cant mimic completed or it affects the ramps stability. I will do another variation of that when I have time.

Left ramp costs aee 3.5 hours with materials totaling $202. The labor is heavy with sanding, stoning and polishing as part of the build. Due to price and labor involved I am only going to make and sell 10 sets of ramps.

I will make as many wireforms as requested that install with the stock plastic ramps.
$345 shipped to U.S.

Limited ramps:

$818.87 and shipping will be determined to your address and will be added to total.

Just picked up a pro over the weekend. Can I be added to the list for wireforms?

Yes I put you on it.

I have had a list of toy story mod requests going back 5 months. I have been doing Slink mods for a few weeks. I want to get the remaining Slink dogs done before I switch over to gotg. So, please be patient. I have been asked about eta and my best guess is gotg starting in early January. This is a family business of 3 and I am the only one designing, building and welding these mods. And right now I am seeing Slink dogs in my sleep…..

I finished the run of toy story slinks. So, I will start these by next week. If your passing or changed your mind on these please pm me and I will drop your name off the list. I have had alot of issues with no replies with the Slink mod. I built the list in large groups. It really bothered me that 8 people have ghosted me on them. Thats 32 hours of work I could have used here.
I have no issues with dropping your name, just let me know. I will build these one set at a time as a result. Again, if your out just let me know.

And thanks to a pinsider I think I need to add a blocking post or wall on the left return. If the ball jumps onto plastics it just runs right down to the side drain. It has not happened playtesting, but an airball jump will roll right down to that side drain. I will add a piece to kick it back into play.

Looking good, I need these wireforms on my game!

Trying my best.. I finally found a Acdc and that was one of my dream games to do. I burnt 20 hours on that this week, sorry for the delay. When I see a design idea in my head I have to make it..All gaurdians now until the list is done.

They look great!
Where's my set??

Will be ready to ship by Monday.
Doing more today. Took a mental break over 1/4 speed video. Plastic ramps will flex. This is the last revision to these as I had no issues with previous versions sold or on my machine. There is a mounting arm added that will allow you to adjust the tension on that ramp to your liking. I will post another play video on these intstalled. If you are still questioning the mod it is ok if you pass on it. I just want no issues going forward.

The last concern was airball drains. There is not room for the ball to go under the rails.
See picture…
Working on install instructions. Heres pictures of the mounts. A walk over video and a play video. Judge for yourself. I am limited to 12 to 20 hours a week welding. Good weeks I can get 3 sets done. Worse should be 2. I cant hire another welder as it would drastically increase costs. (Insurance and welding pay rate in Nj is very high). So please understand I will make as many as requested it will be at that 2 to 3 sets a week pace. I also changed the mounts to single arm design so they can be adjusted if needed. I did double arm rigid mounts and they fit my machine, but caused issues on others.

Walk over:

Could you ship to Canada?

Yes. As long as it is ups. I can send it as a gift to avoid broker fee of $85.00.

I need to get more hardware. (Bolts etc prior to shipping). But 3 sets done.

The cost of metal has gone up $1.83 per rod. I will recalculate and adjust the price for that. Argon increased, but I absorbed that increase for now. But, if it hikes up again I will have to readjust the price again. Fun times….

#260 1 year ago

Supplier costs have increased with argon and steel. I will eat the argon, but cant absorb the material costs of the steel. The screen shot is from over a year ago listing costs of rods used just for one side.

Last year 24 feet of the stainless rod $16.72
Currently 24 feet of the stainless rod $32.70
Cost increased by $31.96. Mod shipped to U.S. $377.

Install:
Machine off for whole process and balls removed:
Remove flashers and lay to the side.
Remove the plastic ramps on both sides including the threaded studs beneath them shown with arrows.
Use included lock nut and install on the exposed screw head on right side as seen in picture.
Remove both sling rubbers and plastics. Remove the screw and plastic post on both slings.
Remove plastic under groot head and note the stacking of plastic spacers on rear post. Remove that post, spacers and screw and lay the spacers out in the order removed.
Remove the left rear plastic behind rocket and the rear post plastic and screw.

Remove the plastic to plastic ramp adapter. Take the new adapter and sandwich them together and place under the remaining ramo holes. Start the two screws carefully and then tighten into place.

Raise playfield:
Install the new 3 inch screws into the now empty inserts. Tighten them all the way to the insert and snug into place. You will now have 4 threaded studs above playfield. 2 at front slings, 1 to the right of groot head and 1 behind rocket.

Lower playfield:
Install the post plastics over the 2 sling studs. Put a washer over the post plastic and then install and tighten regular nuts.
Do the same thing to the stud behind rocket. Then put the plastic post (by groots head) and put the spacers back over stud in the same order removed.
Once all those are tight reinstall the covering plastics and rubber slings. Place a washer on top of the plastics and then install locking nuts. If the stud spins you might need to tighten the screw below playfield a little more. You can also use a screw driver holding the screw under playfield and tighten the nut with your other hand.

Rail install:
The studs by rocket and groot came with 5 washers each. Lay the rails into place and determine the spacing for the stud. Start with 1 or 2 over the studs and see effect of tension. Less washers lower the rail and ramp more raise it.
*********************************
(This was to address video complaint of vibration so its adjustable)
**********************************
All mounting points will need atleast one washer in place. Start all the nuts and screw but dont tighten. Center the ball drops and tighten into place. Then tighten remaining nuts.

Flashers:
There are 4 nuts on the flasher studs. The lower two can be adjusted to level flashers. Install the flasher led then the dome plastics. Tighten the lock washers on flashers and keep the square led flasher centered while tightening.

Appolgizing upfront as I am dropping this as a mod again. The first run I dealt with a few customers having fitment issues on delivery and they required alot of tweaking.. I redesigned the mounting points and made them way more adjustable and I am still having simuliar fitment issues with some customers. I would rather stop at this point then continue. Thanks for the interest, but sometimes (mentally) you have to know when to walk away and that is where I am at with gotg.
