Hey guys, new to the site and got my very first pin, future spa. It was given to me with the hopes of it being played. Covered in dust and debris for many many years I got it home and cleaned it up. I pput it in my garage while working on it. (55°). Cold I know but I didn't want to bring it in my house until I had it probably working...I plugged it in and everything on the play field works, sling shot, bumpers, lights, drop targets, etc. My problem ive had from the get go was the display boards.. sometimes they worked great, other times they pulsed some. It seemed to be keeping score correctly and after 3 weeks I wanted to bring it in... I had a friend help me take the head off to get it in my small game room. (He has 2 pins and had to do the same thing on his) we labeled everything with tape and everything went back exactly the same. After we're got it in the house which was way warmer.. got it put back together and fired it up.. the score board seemed to throw out some random numbers on boot up. Then it settled down and we played a few games. I turned it on later and it was not wanting to boot up or kick the ball out.. I hit the reset on the coin door and it went through its test. Nothing. Shut it off. Turned it on and then all it says is 11 on all the displays. The field still plays fine and it keeps some what of a score before it drops off points or adds a bunch of points still with 11 in the last two digit spot on the display board. I pulled all the displays out, checked the pins, hit them with my soldering iron and fresh solder. Still the same. I pulled the mpu out and it looks as if it's been repaired in the past (smoke, grinding) so I hit those again thinking one might be cracked free, again nothing. Im looking at everything online I can find.. j4 seems to be common thing brought up in this topic, alltek board, among a few other things . before spending money on a new board I would like to try and fix it on my own, I'm really new top this type of thing and I'll be honest I haven't done much electrical. Any help idc much appreciated
Thanks guys
