Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:Why ?
[quoted image]
Because of reasons, that's why.
Quoted from DanQverymuch:Yes. Which is why I expected the mods to remove it.

Or maybe, just maybe, the mods disagree with you. Did you ever consider that?
Pesonally I did not see any racist in the picture. And if I did I'd probably knew better and scroll further. How many "racist pics" did you find in this thread? At which point did you feel offended? One KFC picture did that for you? If so then I think you might need to re-evaluate some emotions and grow up.
Don't get me wrong, I feel sorry if that picture offended you but I think nowadays people are offended too damn fast. I am open for discussion however how to improve that but giving in to a that emotion by deleting the picture is not the best way forward as far as I'm concerned. An OPEN discussion is.
Quoted from EternitytoM83:Discussion is fine, and I'm not saying what the mods should or shouldn't do, but if the question is whether an image of a black kid bugging his eyes at a photoshopped bucket of fried chicken is racist then there's really no question at all.
Perhaps you need to be from the US (particularly the southern US) in order to have the necessary context. Trust me, I'm from Virginia -- far enough south to have been exposed to blatant racism my entire life, yet far enough north to acknowledge it when I see it.
(And for those about to jump down my throat because I just implied that all those south of the Mason–Dixon line are unapologetic racists, I agree with you! It's almost as if one shouldn't spread hurtful stereotypes about people based on where they're from or the color of their skin.)

Thanks for your view on the subject. That is exactly what I was asking. I am not from the south, I am not from the US either, I am from the Netherlands so you're right so my perspective is way different than yours.
Personally I disagree on the subject but I also understand your sentiment. The question now is how to proceed further. You are offended by the pic, I myself am not.
I don't think we will change our personal opinions via this forum and thread but I want to emphasize that we all are here for the same reason and that is pinball. I said it before in different threads, let us pinheads try to get along with each other and speak out truly and honestly.
I personally love it that you added your opinion and I am sorry for you the picture offended you and I sure hope the we as people can someday live together in peace without all the bad things that are happening in this messed up world we live in nowadays. In this context there is only one race and that's the human race. Once we understand that simple principle we're on the right track.
So, again, thank you for your answer and your insights.

Annnd who's schrodinger?!
Schrödinger was a compulsive bipolarist who puts cats in boxes as highlight of his career.
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:BTW, for those that take offense to these types of memes and wonder why many of us give them thumbs up, it is because we love our wives, they have a good sense of humor, and it is fun to laugh with them by giving them a light jab on occassion. I think it would be equally as humorous if my wife posted some stereotypical meme about men and would be happy to laugh with her without taking any offense (if you look back at my history, I've even posted some).
If you're offended easily by meme's in this group I think you should fill in the form and leave the group

Yeah, it's like a battery driving an electromotor to startup a gas powered engine which is driving a generator to charge that battery.
