Reminds me of a story about one of the founders of a company I used to work for. It was a Brazilian company, rumor had it one of the founders like drinking so much that when the government finally passed drinking and driving laws, he gave it up.
Driving that is.

It's called high functioning alcoholic. Run a business, keep a good job etc. Prioritize your day so you don't have to drive after 10am. Excersize and eat moderately etc.
Perfectly acceptable solution if you accept the health damage from the alcohol.
(Hint B1 is good for the brain and fights against the long term effects of alcoholism on memory and cognitive function according to my doctor. It seems to work well for me and i drink a carton of beer a day)
