Quoted from freeplay3:[quoted image]
My bicycle helmet saved my life a few years ago. It started raining during my ride, and it mixed with the oil on the pavement. I went down fast, and my head was the first thing to hit the pavement. It split the helmet but I was okay.
“Everyone gets a trophy” is a myth.
This cartoon is not funny to me. What is this, kids talking about toddlers?
We passed laws requiring bicycle helmets and any participation trophy was given out by an adult, at least blame the correct generation.

As an adult, wearing a bike helmet has saved me at least 3 times. I've had road bike crashes twice at 20+ MPH and destroyed my helmet both times (the other was a lower speed, but I still hit my head on the pavement). Both times I walked away with a mild concussion and a battered body, but fully recovered in a couple of weeks in both cases. If you ride a road bike and don't wear a helmet, you are frankly an idiot. You are not in control of staying upright - other cyclists, road hazards, automobiles, etc. are all outside influences you have no power over. Why anyone would risk their life by not wearing a helmet is beyond me.
As to rewarding mediocrity or lack of merited achievement, I do have an issue with that.
