omg this was really funny to me this morning. They haven’t taught cursive in elementary school for awhile now.
I confess in the second grade I took handwriting class and flunked it. Only class I didn’t get an A in that year. Despite my diligently practicing, my handwriting was for shit. This was a reinforcing factor to my wanting to be a doctor when I grew up.
By the time I went to college, word processing programs were hot and I could replace my handwriting with a computer printout. To store a handful of files might take multiple 5.25” floppy disks. What a pain in the ass they were!
Prolog - I didn’t become a doctor and my handwriting still sux. This year I gave up writing in cursive as a new year’s resolution to quit something.
I confess i had to take writing classes up to grade 5. And I still print everything except my signature!
Quoted from Dee-Bow:I confess i had to take writing classes up to grade 5.
I think back to about 3rd grade. The teacher took a black magic marker and drew a big quarter circle on the right side of the wood desk top. A guide to position your paper.
I pointed out I'm left handed. So she drew one on the left side for me. Looked cool. Like windshield washers.
Several times over the course of the school year she redrew them. She was nice and always did both sides for mine.
LTG : )

I gave up on cursive over 30 years ago.
And now I can hardly read my to do list, that is written with just basic letters. I prefer typing over writing, I can not read any of my writing anymore.
(not the confessional, but I confess I HATE Moms birthday, Mothers Day, and Christmas, because she expects a nice card from me signed in cursive, and I can not do that worth a crap anymore, but I do try).
Johnny has way too many extra humps when in cursive that I just can not write anymore.
And I was thinking about you, and I have totally forgotten how the letter f is in cursive. I have no clue now.
It is funny though, my 78 year old Mom still has all of this perfect cursive handwriting, (that I also struggle to read now).
Do what you want! Life is short!
For me I want one more beer, and post a few captions here, and I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR FUNNY POSTS!
(yeah, we get some repeats here and there, but it is all good, because sometimes someone posts something very funny and awesome, so always worth it to check out what is getting posted here).
Quoted from snowy_owl:This isn't a caption but I thought it was funny. Maybe it's just me.[quoted image]
The caption is in the price.

You did AWESOME!
Keep on posting anything that you think is funny.
(your post was a lot better than most of the ones with the cat and screaming woman).
Random funny stuff is the best I think, most of the time anyway.

There is a town in Kansas called Arkansas City. And here it is pronounced like "are Kansas City". Or people may call it "Ark City" for short. Also the Arkansas River runs through Kansas and here we always call it the "are Kansas River". We don't care what anybody else thinks.
Quoted from kst8cat:We don't care what anybody else thinks.
I like that, same way I am, I care less what anyone thinks. Life is too short to deal with all of that.
Kansas vs Arkansas got me thinking about whether there were words starting with Ar that sound differently. I think pronunciation is a personal choice and I enjoy listening to it. If pronouncing kansas becomes a problem then there are no world problems left to be solved. I don’t know how to pronounce a single one of these words nor would I recognize if one was uttered correctly. Don’t even ask me what they mean.
