Not looking for the most Classic, but the most laughs-per-minute.

Please don't vote for any movie you have not re-watched in 2024!

Your fond memories on how funny Revenge Of The Nerds was....are probably false memories.

That comedy show on Netflix- beautiful dogs made me laugh so Hard I cried twice.

If you have never seen the gong show movie it is worth checking out.

I remember laughing quite a bit on the first viewing of all of these:

Animal House
Every which way but loose
Monty python and the holy grail
Ghostbusters

#9 67 days ago

I loved Animal House when it came out.

But I went a few weeks ago to a theater that shows old movies on real 35mm film and watched it again with my Nieces and Nephews.

It's Soooo Slooooow now, with each setup taking forever.

The dead horse office scene still made everyone laugh.

Every AI curated internet list includes "Three Amigos" as a top 100 comedy.

There is not a single laugh in the entire movie. Not one.
totally sucks asstotally sucks ass

Waiting for Guffman...or Team America.

Blazing Saddles
Office Space
Caddy Shack
Monty Python

National Lampoon's Vacation

#19 67 days ago

On that list I would go Dumb and Dumber. I also enjoy Office Space and Hot Fuzz. I think Scary Movie2 was funnier than the first one. Jack ass is in a league of its own but it's a different kind of funny. In conclusion there are some funny movies on that list.

Another movie on every "top 100 comedy" list is "The Jerk" 1979

It seems like I saw it back in the day, but I watched it last month, and it just did not have any laughs in it.

I love Steve Martin, but I should not have re-watched that steaming pile, total dud.

Some movies are funnier because they are dated, but was this ever funny?

It's on HBO if you want to try it again...

I am surprised Major League isn't on the list.

Quoted from Gryszzz:

I dare you to gather your friends, turn off your cell phones, and sit down and watch The Jerk start to finish.

There is no way you all make it to the end.

There is no way you laugh even once.

Never saw it.

Is it laugh-a-minute funny, or just cute because you saw it as a kid?

No. It's funny as hell.

It's quotable, like "FOODFIGHT!!!!!!!", but would it make you laugh if you and 5 other people watched it tonight?

Seriously, turn on HBO and watch it without distraction...this should be funny, right??

I want the movie to be as funny as this pictureI want the movie to be as funny as this picture

LPM = Airplane for me easy.

Quoted from vid1900:

This is a classic "Funny when you were 12" situation. Tried to watch it somewhat recently and dreadfull.

I watched Airplane! during the pandemic (we watched the Film Channels top 100 comedies) .

It was dated, but that somehow even made it funnier.

You know what's nextYou know what's next

#33 67 days ago

Austin Powers was so funny they made a pinball about it!

#34 67 days ago

I have to agree with Diddy, Planes Trains and Autos. John Candy was an awesome guy.

#35 67 days ago

Planes, Trains, Automobiles

#37 67 days ago

Major League is not a high LPM flick.

I still think it's hard to find an all time funnier movie than Fletch. Again, not the volume of Airplane but he packs a ton in.

#38 67 days ago

May I ask vid if you're watching these stone cold sober during the day while restoring machines, kinda like having them on in the background?

#39 67 days ago

The Exorcist and then Young Frankenstein

Perhaps not the funniest, but this did have me laughing.

There are so many great ones. But I always have to put Blazing Saddles at number 1. It has laughs per minute from beginning to end, it is imminently quotable, and it never gets old. It was the first to put in a fart scene. And somehow, with all of this, it manages to make a statement about one of the biggest issues of our times, and get away with using a completely forbidden word multiple times. Pure genius. The writing combination of Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor may never be matched.

Young Frankenstein is also great, but may appeal best to those familiar with the original source material.

Caddyshack ranks way up there, but may appeal mainly to golfers.

Holy Grail of course, and also Life of Brian is pretty damn funny. God I love the Biggus Dickus scene.

Airplane is great, but to truly appreciate it you have to watch this video. We had no idea about this when it originally came out.

I can agree with any of the others. Austin Powers, Dumb and Dumber, Planes Trains and Automobiles, all great. John Candy was just a genius, wish he were still here.

A few more I like that are off the path: Stripes, Hollywood Shuffle, and Kung Pao Enter the Fist. What makes Kung Pao Fist so great is the way the movie was built from existing old Kung Fu films.

When we watched the Film Channel top 100 comedies during the pandemic, we sat around a 70" screen.

Now that I'm back in the states, I have a 10 foot screen and projectors.

If I'm working, I've only got music on; I'll get electrocuted if I'm distracted by laughing out loud.

This is the most incorrect statement I've ever seen you make.

I was kid when it came out, but the movie I remeber laughing the hardest at ever was The God's Must Be Crazy. As in adult, Stepbrothers really got me laughing super hard, more than I could remember before or since.

Are you new here or something?

#45 67 days ago

Fear of a black hat.

Love it

#46 67 days ago

The Jerk falls in that cringe funny category that isn't the best category for me. I remember it being funny, but I believe if I watched it now I would not.

Seriously, try it Saturday night.

Secretly set up a GoPro and film your friend's reaction shots to The Jerk.

Then watch Waiting as a pallet cleanser.
