Kind of a noob here. I've been on the prowl for a Funhouse. I have an opportunity to buy one, working condition unknown at this time but theres something strange going on with this one. It has a 4th flipper installed that appears to be blocking the mirror hole. I've never seen that on any other Funhouse so I'm guessing it was modded.... but why the heck would you do that and what purpose would it serve?

I don't have access to the machine so I can't investigate myself. These are the only photos I have:

Hole kickout might not work, so instead of a drywall screw they stuck a flipper there ?

LTG : )™

#3 8 years ago

If there was a problem with the kickout on the hole.

#4 8 years ago

things that make you go hmmm.....

What are they asking for it? Could be a "great deal" or "don't touch it with a 10ft pole"

#5 8 years ago

Never pass up a Funhouse...
Good thing is they didnt drill a hole, perhaps a spare flipper just comes with it

#6 8 years ago

From the angle its sitting at, its definitely not functional, probably just sitting in there.

#7 8 years ago

Buy it Biff.

#8 8 years ago

I just missed getting one. Am still kicking myself for not moving faster........

#9 8 years ago

I saw the ad, and personally, I think the price is way too high for a pin in unknown condition. The price on it is one I've typically seen for minty restored ones.

#10 8 years ago

I thought it was too high too considering it'll need a lot of love likely to get to where a collector would want it

#11 8 years ago

You can see rudys not to happy about the flipper, hopefully its not screwed or glued in.

#12 8 years ago

Yeah the Mystery Mirror is kind of important.I also think it's just sitting there, hopefully.

#13 8 years ago

Ill buy it if its cheap. I have a PF with its name on it.

#14 8 years ago

That's just a tacky plastic piece put in the middle of the playfield, it's called a "mod" these days.

#15 8 years ago

I usually glue a third flipper right in the middle between the other two. I still manage to drain STDM...

#16 8 years ago

Its only 2900 guys lol way to much for unknown working condition .

#17 8 years ago

whoa. I guess there is a premium price charged for the extra flipper.

#18 8 years ago

I have $$ set aside for the right Funhouse. Hook me up!

I'd say run. If the hacks are this bad above the playfield, imagine what is beneath. Fine if it was cheap but 2900? nope....

Yep thats y I didn't even consider it or for that matter any pin from this place even know it right beside my house basically lol.i wish i would have been in the hobby few years sooner as they use to have good deals but as long as people pay his crazy prices this will continue.

#21 8 years ago

It's also not a Superpin..

Yep tz, jd, bsd, ft, congo, met and im very happy with it and keeping it for a while

#25 8 years ago

1. it looks like the flipper is just sitting in the hole. probably not attached or anything, just thrown in there as spare part storage.

2. that is WAY too much for that game considering its condition. it looks neglected. dirty as heck. missing rubbers. damaged apron. the image of the cabinet looks photoshopped to me, to make the side art look brighter and undamaged. also, "unknown" whether it works or not means it doesn't work. stay away.

#26 8 years ago

Another photo, before the playfield photos were taken. I kind of doubt that it was photoshopped.

Well, I ended up buying it! I was told that the flipper was just laying in the out hole because the old owner was planning on replacing the left main flipper which has a crack.

Was told it works perfectly. Fingers crossed!

That's pretty much what all of my machines look like. But I glue mine in place to help with the drains.

Please tell us you didn't waste 2900 on it?

This sounds like you didn't confirm it works perfectly. I don't know how much play this was getting buried in a warehouse after all.

#33 8 years ago

I would almost bet rudy needs rebuilt just off the few pics his eyes for sure probably need fixed

#34 8 years ago

Congrats!

#35 8 years ago

$2900 would probably have been high, but not that high. If the displays are good and it played for the most part you'd be ok

#36 8 years ago

$2700. Picking it up tomorrow and will test it out. Was told it works "Perfectly" including Rudy
s mouth and eyes. It will go straight to billsfan for a shop job!

#37 8 years ago

Good luck I hope it works out ok for ya!

It looks pretty good so if everything works, I think that is plenty fair. Nice pickup on an awesome pin.

#39 8 years ago

Sell this as a mod. You will make big bucks

#40 8 years ago

Funhouse is so volital in pricing...I don't think you've over paid.....if everything is clean and works as it should

#41 8 years ago

Congrats hope it cleans up nice for ya.FRENZY!

#42 8 years ago

I love that game, and by west coast standards, you got a deal.

#43 8 years ago

How do u all know it was a deal we have yet to really see any pics of the play field or if it really does all work? I hope its super nice and all works for the op but we dont know yet

#44 8 years ago

Well, I didn't get a chance to play her on pickup... but I'm optimistic. A bit of a gamble, yes. I took it directly over to my friends house for shopping so it will probably be another few weeks before I get to play it. If there are issues I'm sure I'll hear about it soon.

A good deal is a state of mind. Unless it needs a playfield, I don't see anything wrong with that price. Someone had a Comet up this way for $2500.

#47 8 years ago

for as much fun i have on FH i think its worth it, if it shops out well

#48 8 years ago

I feel like it is 1k too high for a FH in an unknown state... But hey that is just me, what do I know?
