Hello! I am investigating some strange behavior in the Funhouse pinball I got a few weeks ago. Out of the blue, the switch at the entrance of the ramp that leads to the crazy steps stopped detecting the ball and by extension, the flap that diverts the ball into the steps is not working either. I suspected perhaps the switch and/or diode were bad (see attached photo), and unscrewed it to do some testing. It appears the switch itself might be bad (manually closing it does nothing), but if I take a paperclip or other small piece of metal and short the white and green wires, I get the sound and behavior of the trap door opening like when you loop the ball and hit the trap door trigger. I don't recall the ramp entrance switch having anything to do with the trap door.

I have some more checking to do but was just hoping someone could shed light on this behavior, where a switch is suddenly behaving like a switch in a different location. Thanks in advance!

I appreciate the reply. I will check the other switches in that row/column. I do not have the manual in front of me, but can anyone confirm the diode part number for the switches? I believe it is 1N4004, listed as replacement for the 1N4001. Thank you!
