I have a Williams funhouse with a steps gate issue, as soon as I turn the game on, the steps gate locks in the open position until I turn the game off. Replaced the solenoid and am still seeing the issue. I'm thinking it is a switch issue on a board. My question is would a locked on coil be from the mpu or the driver board? I'm thinking its a switch matrix issue, can a single switch be locked on and not the whole row? Thanks in advance!

Most likely a bad transistor. Do you have a copy of the manual? You'll need to find the transistor that drives that solenoid and test it. It's most likely shorted to ground so that it's always being energized.

Most likely not a switch issue. Start with testing the associated transistor with the coil that controls the gate (Is this the gate on the outlane that opens so the ball feeds to the plunger, or the arm on the ramp that diverts the ball?). If the transistor tests good, test the predriver transistor as well.

If both transistors test good, test the diode associated with the coil.

This is the gate that opens to feed the plunger. The transistor that drives the gate would be on the driver board, correct?

Yes

(Funhouse doesn't have a fliptronic board OR any kind of aux driver board)

It is Q48 on the power driver board.
