I was betting on the cat as boss, but the wife usually wins battles such as health. Thank you so much for sharing your restore with the rest of us so we can learn some new ways of doing things. I am in the middle of a Funhouse restore of a game that went through a fire and will use some of your ideas. I have almost finished my cabinet and I applied my cabinet art dry, with clamps and was very careful. The key is a very sharp knife with frequent blade changes. I sandblasted the coin door to bare metal then repainted. You seem to know much more about all this than I do, but pm me if you have any questions about what I have done with cabinet prep and artwork. Just like you I had to sand all the way to bare wood, then used bondo to correct any damage to the wood.

I just have a cheap small sandblast cabinet, hope to upgrade to a better one this spring. My game was pretty bad from the fire so blasting was surely needed. Like you I painted the entire cabinet inside and out to healp seal the smoke smell. I took a quarter size sample of the cabinet art to Lowes and they color matched my blue, nearly perfect. I used a bright white on the inside of the backbox and also on the cabinet floor. I added a few pics of my game for you to see, and I started by lining up the start button hole on the front, and then lined up everything else from there. I am an operator not a professional restorer of pinballs, but the Funhouse is for my personal collection and not for my route. I think your work is very good and I am learning from your photos, and my game with no doubt turn out better thanks to you. Thanks again for all your effort updating this topic.

so you think I am best not to use any, rather than the ones I bought? I have never used protectors before so I thought I would try these that I bought from ebay.

I am glad you pointed this out Joe, but I see now that I should have never used them. After just a few weeks, I can already see some indentation from the protectors. I took them off and put my legs back on, still looks good, but no longer perfect like it was. Live and learn I guess, thats why I read these posts to try and get better at all this.

Thanks guys, I will get some of those, sad part is I think I paid at least that much for the junk I used in the photo.
