Very Nice...my FH is where yours was when you started. I love what you've done but I don't think I could take on such a mammoth task, it's a mix of lack of skills and dollars for me!

#153 11 years ago

Amazing thread. Every credit.

#154 11 years ago

Excellent work really enjoying this thread

#155 11 years ago

That's amazing what clear ramps do, can actually see the back of the Playfield! Awesome.

I think that you should start a kickerstarter to fund your costs for those "lost" nylon washers. with the number of people here, you should easily reach your goal of .82 in no more than 60 days!

#162 11 years ago

Great work so far, the cleanest FH I have seen in quite a while!

#163 11 years ago

Oh yeah, nobody tell my wife I was scrubbing the harness in the kitchen

Funny! The first thing I thought when I saw that pic was "my wife would kill me"

Your secret is safe with me.

Excellent restore, just gorgeous. I would suggest my Black Line version of the scoop protectors though on a new playfield. They hug the black keylines so appearance is a bit cleaner. I also just made replacements for the flipper ball guides A-14708 and A-14709 which are specific to Funhouse. You can see them on my new page here. http://www.passionforpinball.com/FlipFrames.htm

Fantastic job again Keith. I've been meaning to restore my own FH since 1998 and your pictorial is really motivating me to get on it

#173 11 years ago

As the previous owner of this game, I'm blown away by the work you did here. It's awesome to see Rudy get the treatment that I lack the skill and motivation to take on. Great job!

#174 11 years ago

So I tore into the cabinet last night .I took additional photos of the back box then removed the clips and plate only to realize there was no memory card in the camera.

I also realized i need to replace the bottom speaker. I really wanted to keep this machine close to the original but now I'm thinking of doing the armor in chrome.

Thoughts on chrome?

Any suggestions on speaker?

Chrome is cool!

PinballPro.com for the speaker. You won't be disappointed.

#176 11 years ago

The chrome does look really nice on this game. I think it goes with the theme.

Funhouse Blue PowderCoat. Friend of mine has his done this way. Looks very cool. Not as cool as chrome would though.

I don't want to stray to far from original .dont get me wrong I don't dislike powder.
But my choices are stainless or chrome.

This is easily one of my favorite threads to come back to. Good Lord!

#182 11 years ago

It'll almost be a shame to play it.

Almost .....but not quite.

#184 11 years ago

Is the balloon plastic stock on that bottom picture? The one on the plastic that goes next to the "gobble" hole and the chute? I need to put that on mine.

#185 11 years ago

If you go back a few photos to "play field is complete" you can see the other balloon. There are two that look similar.

#186 11 years ago

You bringing this to the show Keith?

#188 11 years ago

Hello all together!

First of all I have to say WOW! This is really a cool Funhouse!

Somebody emailed me the link to this thread and told me that the playfields are too long. I don't know how that happened but I will check that. I have to say sorry for the extra work of cutting the playfiled and I'm glad you managed that.

It would have been cool if you emailed me with this issue so that I can correct it for the future. Same with any other problems you find during the installation! I'm the last one who is not listeing to suggestions! But I can't check all communities everyday, so if anybody finds a issue on one of the playfield titles I made, please email me so that I can react.

Best Regards,
Mirco

#189 11 years ago

Mirco,
Thanks for the compliment .
I am sorry, I guess I didn't think to contact you on this . I will definitely do so in the future if any thing ever comes up. Kudos on the beautiful work you do

Best Regards, Keith

I sanded one side and used a heat gun on the other.no significant time savings using one or the other.

Keith, How is your project going? Or our you to busy playing with your new purchases?

#193 11 years ago

That cabinet does not look too bad - no going back now.

Cabinet sanded and primed and waiting the paint booth.

I did have to squeeze in shopping 2 FT in between.

#196 11 years ago

how is it goin on been a while since i looked at this thread

#197 11 years ago

Still waitin to get the cabinet in the spray booth. Primed it at home, wife not to happy with the smell,me bad. Hopefully this week

#198 11 years ago

What do you think is the best way to take decals off
Use a hair dryer and wallpaper scarper and take away the adhensive gunk
Or sanding the cabinet

#199 11 years ago

They both took about the same time. The heat gun was less mess/dust. I would use the heat gun (ventilated area). If this method starts gouging the cabinet then I would switch to the belt sander.

#200 11 years ago

Finally off to a paint booth.Did I mention how happy my wife was when I primed it in the basement.
