Another Funhouse Restoration, probably the most documented machine on Pinside. No need for descriptions or a play-by-play. Just some pictures for your pinball amusement. Time for some highlights:

WOW just wow really nice!

#14 4 years ago

Absolutely Incredible!
Few questions from a newbie:
It appears that you replaced the bottom of the cab? Was it necessary, I didn't notice any major issues?

Did the cardboard sleeve on the transformer require a replacement or is it just a "looks nice" sorta thing?

FH restorations are always enjoyable to see! What brand of decals did you go with?

Beautiful restoration, nice work!

Beautiful. Love the blue.

Very nice, I will take it!

#19 4 years ago

Wow! Dont see how it gets any nicer than that!
Looked like a really nice example going into it?

Thanks all, working on these machines is what I dig most about this hobby.

It’s the original floor of the cabinet, no changes...just sanded clean. There were some decent gouges on the bottom side, which is why it was painted black after the bondo repairs.
The new brown label for the transformer was just for looks, nothing functional there.

Decals were from Phoenix Arcade, got them awhile back and it was one of their last sets.

Yea, this FH wasn’t in too bad of shape to begin with. It’s actually the 2nd time this pin has been restored. It’s first go around was by Bill Davis over a decade ago, but after years of sun-fade and dings from ownership changes, I had to bring it back up to my standards. I was told the playfield was cleared by Chris Hutchins (unconfirmed) and it’s been holding up nicely, it only needed a buffing after 10 years of play.

Just beautiful - well done!

Did you make the transformer wrap yourself or did you source it somewhere? If the latter would you mind sharing how to get one?

Thanks!

The grimy wrap for the transformer always bothered me, just finding the right paper was the hardest part.
Made them up myself and a thick adhesive backed kraft paper did the trick.

Thank you for not chrome plating the coin door or adding color GIs

The transformer in my Taxi did not get the proper treatment, I wish I restored mine to the level you did. At the time i did not know you could paint the transformer!

Great restore, congrats on your beautiful work. I added some clear to Rudy as well on my FH.

One thing to nag about: I hate those led displays, they're so ugly.

Everything's so glossy and shiny!

Incredible work!
