Just as a documentation we also have pictures of everything that was replaced. We replaced new switches, new coil sleeves and springs, and new kicker assemblies. On top of that we cleaned the last wire harness and put the first harness in, which happens to be the same one. Down below are the downright nasty photos and also we have the squeaky clean new photos as well.

Last but not least we have the final pictures for the day with the first harness on and Rudy's head on right and it is staying the way that it is now. We need plastics, ramps, and rubbers and the end will be near. We are planning to actually have everything done and when the final things come in they will be on and we will have the final product. We should not take longer than this week and if we do then I hope the parts will come in sooner .

Looks great Evan, thanks for posting. Funhouse is my favorite game of all time.

#155 4 years ago

Did you mylar the jet bumper area? Even with a good clearcoat it is something I would still do.

Sooo Sorry for not posting we had a lot to do and we got it done and not many pictures were taken (Sorry) but anyways the machine sort of works but it works nonetheless. We put on the ramps, put on the plastics, put the final harness on, soldered all of the solenoids, put LED's in, riveted the plastics, polished all ramps and Apron/Shooter holders?, and ran tests. (Beware for pictures galore)

Pictures of it in the machine along with my dad and I spending quality time figuring out why these fuses were popping . We did find the problem that it was the board and that was our minor setback there but we took it off of my dads Corvette. (Thanks Dad)

And finally here are the lit up pictures of the machine when it is in and LED'd up and I will post a video soon of it playing. Thanks for following my forum and giving me suggestions on my way to the victory we have achieved. You guys are awesome!

That was a great, GREAT, GREAT job!!!!!!!!!! To think someone of your age could do all of that. I'm much older than your dad and I do good to just plug my danged pin into the wall socket!

#167 4 years ago

We took pictures a few days ago and we have been playing the gamer like crazy... As I said the game looks great and we added GIs and spotlights and the game is so bright.

Man, this machine looks downright amazing. You did an incredible job in this restoration.

#177 4 years ago

Congrats. The finished product looks great Evan. Looking forward to your next project.

#178 4 years ago

Looks outstanding.

Consider yourself fortunate to have a parent who can help teach you the ropes on how to do this as well as getting the opportunity to spend some time with him while doing it. It will be something you wont easily forget down the road.

If I remember correctly, this was a birthday present? It looks like you've finished it just in time for another one in a month or two. Excellent timing. =]

#179 4 years ago

Looks Awesome!!! nice cards by the way

#180 4 years ago

Dang! Evan, a piece of beauty!

You can be proud of yourself, i know your dad surely is

What's next?

#181 4 years ago

Looks amazing. He should be very proud of what he has as done.

First day of the Ohio show went well with only one ball getting stuck and a flipper coil messing up causing a flipper flutter but other than that it went great and everyone really seems to enjoy it a lot.

#183 4 years ago

Very beautiful game, probably the nicest game there

#184 4 years ago

I knew I liked you!! My name's also Evan. It was a pleasure meeting you and your folks. Really was the highlight of the Ohio show. Thanks for taking the time to chat, and I apologize for setting the grand champion on your machine. Hands down the nicest looking and most perfectly playing FH I've ever set my eyes on. LED choices were perfect. Wouldn't change a thing. Really looks and feels like a true carnival funhouse, without the blinding lights. The ability to back hand that ramp tells me you guys perfectly dialed this in.

Awesome work. Like I said, it would be an honor to have you restore one of my machines (maybe my FH?!)

Why wasn't this on free play like the other games?

#186 4 years ago

Because someone turned the game off and reset all of the factory settings because we don't have good batteries in it at the moment.

Good time to install an NVRAM.

Fantastic job on the restoration, BTW.

Strange. All the games in that row weren't on free play.

Did they all get "reset"?

#189 4 years ago

Wonderful project, couldn't have done it better myself. You're lucky you don't have so much work on restoring the playfield colours - that's a deadly job.

Not really linked, but seeing from the pictures - gold coin door on the TOTAN = overkill?

Come on man, game made it to a show, you got to play it

Sorry man. Drove 2.5 hours to the show to pay $20 for FREE play.

None of this dudes pins were on free play when I was there. My opinion is he used the show just to sell them/take offers. They should've been on free play.

I find it really hard to believe he "forgot to change the batteries" on all of them, considering the time spent in restoration.

You got me ! that's what I am doing is using the shows to sell games. FyI I could give a flying f?$k if I sell a game I take them there for others to play and enjoy not sure why you couldn't play them they were on free play both days and they got played alot. And the funhouse was not for sale anyways

Sensitive?

So was it just my bad timing that all the pins in that row weren't on free play when just I walked by?

#194 4 years ago

Did the Pinsound board make it in time? I'm waiting for the 2.1 wiring harness that wasn't available when I bought the board initially and then I'm putting it in J. Dredd or Twilight Z.

I can attest they were on FREE play. Played the crap out of his games Fri night. They were awesome. Thanks for bringing them

#196 4 years ago

They weren't on free play this morning, but were in the afternoon and until they left. I played a lot of them. Nicest Funhouse I've ever played. Fantastic job, Evan!

I skipped the Corvette, but from what I saw that looked good too.

Sorry it's bad enough to watch people disrespect the machines all the time we left around 9 on Friday and they were all on when we left not sure why they didn't work. I watched a parent let his 3 year old literally climb onto the glass of funhouse once it was crazy I had to watch the games the whole weekend

No should have it this week, I hope it's good I will buy them for all of my machines

#199 4 years ago

If they were on free play at some point, my apologies.

I just get a little pissed at shows when some people have their games on credit play accepting quarters.

Regardless, nice work on the funhouse. It did look great. Just sorry I couldn't play it.

Stephens 3 amazing game were on free play for all to enjoy, not to mention Stephen, his wife and son are 3 awesome people to hang around and talk to at his games. This family deserves an award for best of show. I love chatting with Stephen about his games. He even bought a No Fear while there, what does he do.......drags it to his group of games, fixes board issues, dials it in to the best of his ability with what tools and parts he brought, rips out lights, buys a shit load of LEDs, lights it up better and puts it right out for people to play! That's what you call a great pinball guy and family. His lovely wife was right there elbows deep under the hood getting it ready with him. Great people.mthank you for bringing your stuff. My group played there all afternoon league style competitions!
