I just did this as well...no issues. Given what is required to put them on, I would start with contacts under the pf near all the places you removed things and see if any are touching. Bolts/Nuts/Screws...
First guess is (and I don't remember exactly how it is set up at the moment)is maybe it's the switch in the tunnel not always getting connection when the ball hits the outhole.
