Can anybody give me a list of flashers, I need to order LED flasher bulbs for a restoration I started.
Thanks
Ok, I need to order some 906 flashers and 455 blinkers.I have plenty of frosted and clear sunlight 2smb
Anybody know what part number or where I can find these lamp sockets from the insert board?
20210420_182039 (resized).jpg20210420_182047 (resized).jpg
These are pretty crispy with some broken edjes...
Quoted from pinballinreno:The IDC snap in sockets are not available. Pinball Life was supposed to be making some maybe in the future.
Chris Hutchens is currently just using sockets and retrofitting the wooden insert panels with these sockets:
For staple on bayonet style:
https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/077-5000-00
For wedge style
https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/077-5030-00
This works really well.
You can just use all of the wedge style and get the #455 blinkers in wedge base if you are doing all the sockets.
But personally, I would just replace only the broken IDC plastic inserts with the screw on wedge base ones.
Thank you very much. Time to start yet another list of parts to order.
Quoted from Davi:It's not available. Last known source was Australia, 2 years ago.
Yep found that out. I was able to source 24 of the Australian ones and they should be on the way soon.
Quoted from yzfguy:I put those on mine to distract all the haters from making fun of my powdercoated coin door!
[quoted image]
I bought these for my restoration, I was on the fence about using them but after seeing your pic I think Im going to install them. They fit the cab art very nicely.
Quoted from arcadenerd925:you put maybe 2 grand or so
You will need to pony up a lot more than 2k for parts....
Im at 4k spent right now (not including base game) and Im still finding stuff as I go that I need to order.
Quoted from TheOnlyest:As expected, most of you missed my point... This market has moved to what I sometimes call "title value", which means that everyone thinks that because the game says Funhouse on the backglass, its worth a fortune! so it really doesn't matter if your game is well maintained and in a condition average for its age, or a heap of shit with more wood than graphics showing on the pf and a warped, planked cabinet that looks like it fell off a truck on its way to the landfill... It's still worth SIX GRAND!!??? Bullshit!
@ pinballinreno, your game is worth $6K all day long (altho i'm sure you think its worth $12K)... The 2 in the market right now, not even close!!
So in the end, a wave of locked-down idiots with more dollars than sense, who dont know dick about pinball are getting chumped into paying outrageous money for shit-box games and destroying this hobby for people like me who've been in it for 35 years, and many of you too!!
I intend to remain part of the solution and not part of the problem, by NOT buying overpriced games, period! As far as selling, my collection is permanent, I dont sell or flip games, I have picked up a couple games in my day that were good deal, that I traded for games on my wishlist, but that's it.
You sound very bitter, thats unfortunate.
Quoted from Zablon:The thing is, he could sell most of his games for way more than he paid ....so while sure, buying old games may be out of the question, it's not like his collection is worthless. It works both ways.
I understand why he wouldn't want to though. I'm the same way. I could never get the games again at near the prices I got them for in the past.
Maybe, but my comment to him was not meant with any malice, just an observation that its unfortunate the fun has come out of a hobby he obviously loves...

Cool, but the teeth look weird
My FH has been in pieces for months now and Im really starting to miss Rudy!
Do any of you guys who have restored a FH have a list of (part #s and quantity) the lamp sockets for the playfield?
I am looking for all GI and insert lighting, along with the ones on the ramps...basically everything except the sockets in the head.
I want to get these ordered but my wire harness is not easily accessible at the moment to identify and count the old ones...
Thanks
Quoted from Scott8806:That was it just joined the club thanks
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
She sure is pretty.
Quoted from AlexRogan84:How are these?[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Perfect, thank you, exactly what I needed. Someone did a bushfix to this one.
Quoted from fossmin:Contact the seller. He was talking about doing another run of these. Not sure where that stands. I was lucky enough to find one from someone that had bought one and never installed it. Install is definitely time consuming adjusting every single led. It is pretty awesome once done!
I really wanted one, I think they look great...I just cant get past the fact that the "F" looks like a "J" when its lit up. I wish they would have added the 2 missing dots.
This isnt an F...
20210812_063200 (resized).jpg
Junhouse?
I know thats how the original looks (no dot on each side of the F) but with original lighting it looks ok.
Theres no getting around it, when its lit up it looks like a "J"
Quoted from killerrobots:Well I sort of did. I got a set for the cabinet not realizing they didn't include the heads. I can't seem to find them separate so I just decided to paint. I already did one side but this side has more sanding so I just wanted to double check a couple of details. Here is the left side finished.[quoted image]
Incredible touch up work!
Quoted from pinballinreno:In my area they just rattle can them black. Problem solved
Just had a pinbot dropped off in my shop today missing 1/3 of the front art....
Quoted from AlexRogan84:I did find a pack of 33 for $3 at the Home Depot near me. Problem is though that one of the two holes has been enlargened and the screw won't bite. It just spins. This is the rightside screw hole. The leftside has a screw and is fine, but I feel like the lip of the ramp needs to be snugged down a little more as it seems like every so often the ball catches a little bit of air and then gets rejected by the wire gate instead of shooting by it.
Is this kind of wood hole repair done with filling it in with sawdust or wood glue or something along those lines? Never had to do anything like that before. I'm sure it isn't crazy hard, just getting the good access by removing everything is probably the bigger challenge on the FH.
Put wood glue on a tooth pick, stick it in the hole and break it off...then drive in the screw
Quoted from killerrobots:Lucky for you my playfield is all torn apart and all my parts are conveniently on my bench:[quoted image]
Perfect, thank you
Nice work I would be a little nervous as well to blast Rudy in the face with oven cleaner and see it start foaming...
Quoted from fossmin:What sources are there for new FH playfields? Is Mirco the only choice? What is the quality of these and how are the holes and dimples?
Thanks
If your original is not a basket case, consider sending it off for restoration and clear coat. I got mine back from CaptainNeo and it looks great. Price for restoration was about the same as a new Mirco and its a lot easier to repopulate because all the holes are accurate for mech placement.

Quoted from Markharris2000:Pretty sure that is an add-on part that gets installed under the playfield at the end of the trap door. It takes a single screw (drilled pilot hole required) and it prevents the trap door from dropping below the playfield too far. Look at the area of the playfield where the trap door is installed, away from the hinge, and you should see open space. The small part of the bracket is intended to sit up thru the playfield so the trap door can rest on it when closed. You'll also need to make sure your trap door flap is straight as that can bend over time of the door has closed a million times over the last 30 years. If the flap is already bent, you'll want to replace that flap too (a harder fix).
Gotcha, thanks.
Its a new trap door so I want to protect it from the start.
Quoted from MC35:Glad to see a pic of this. I just contacted him last week for my FH PF restoration. Do you have before and after pics. I'm considering the Micro since it would be here sooner and only a little more in cost.
Im very happy...

Quoted from pinballinreno:Neo does amazing work!
Agreed.
I did a mirco playfield in my TOM and I thought it looked great and most of the dimples were in the right place. The clear was so thick I had to fiddle with the switches more than a normal field swap but other than that I didnt have the chipping or pooling issues that others experienced.
Pros of using Mirco (in my experience):
Quick to arrive
Slightly cheaper (in my case it was $100 difference)
Its brand new and beautiful
Cons of Mirco:
Thick/soft clear
Errors in the art files (I can only speak about TOM on this)
Color differences from original
Missing holes, or holes where they shouldnt be
Dimples are more of a guideline (more time consuming to get proper placement)
Chipping of clear (again, I did not experience this in my TOM)
Customer service or concerns seem to be lacking (I did not experience this but it is well documented)
Pros of restored original:
Parts easily go back on in the same location
Thinner clear
No missing or incorrect holes
Cons of restored original:
Takes quite a bit of time for turn atound
More expensive (not much)
A few more bits of info from my experiences-
Neo did a fantastic job, but his communication could be a bit better.
Having a new playfield and the old one side by side make it much easier to swap a few parts parts over at a time vs. removing all parts and storing them for months, then having to place everything from pics.
Some people put more value in a game with a restored original vs repro playfield.
Quoted from MC35:Yeah, I don't think mine has eyelets.
What size rivets? Sounds like a better fix then resin, which will eventually wear out too.
Im leaving for Vegas in just a bit, but remind me next week and I will ship you some
Heres what I did to make them fit...
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/no-catchy-thread-title-this-time-just-a-funhouse-restoration/page/4#post-6417724
Quoted from MC35:Thank you. I'll gladly pay shipping and whatever the cost is for the eyelets. I'm ordering other parts today!!
Just PM me your address, its only a few pennies in parts and a stamp, I'm happy to send them to you no charge.
Quoted from jetmechinnc:While I keep placing orders for parts for my funhouse restoration, I was wondering if anyone has used Rad Cal cabinet decals. They are about $150 more than pinballdecalseu.com where I’ve bought all my cabinet decals so far. Curious about them if they are worth it.
I would stick with decals, rad cals are for people who dont want to put in the work to get good results with decals.
Quoted from jetmechinnc:Debating on redoing the cabinet decals in the standard blue or black. Does anyone have any pictures of the cabinet with the black decals installed??
https://pinballdecalseu.com/shop/funhouse-black-pinball-cabinet-decals-set/
Blue for sure...I just installed a set of blue pinballdecalseu decals a few days ago and am very happy
20211216_162426 (resized).jpg20211217_085315 (resized).jpgQuoted from big-c66:can u get new play field n different parts for it still
Yes, most parts are available for a restoration or repairs
Quoted from AlexRogan84:My Rudy head plastic and jaw are fine (thankfully), but after reading about how those parts are terribly hard to find, I wanted to see what was out there in terms of spares.
Found this jaw piece: https://www.ministryofpinball.com/en/funhouse-jaw-rudy.html
As well as this one that is referred to as the "oval lips": https://www.ministryofpinball.com/en/funhouse-jaw-rudy-oval-lips.html
I assume the oval lips one isn't the one meant for Rudy? The other one looks closer to the one on my game. Is the expectation that you paint the lips yourself? Anyone buy these before? Feedback? Good/bad?
I believe that the oval lip version is for "Red" from Roadshow
images.jpeg (resized).jpgQuoted from dsuperbee:That hole and bracket were added in by someone.
Thanks, I guess that explains why I cant see it in anybody else's pics,
Quoted from mjenison:Looking at your picture, it seems your post for the lamp shade might not be correct.
Thanks, I will look into it.
Quoted from cosmokramer:Thanks, I will look into it.
Yup, looks like someone put one in my game that is too tall. Here is a pic from hep thread...
Screenshot_20220107-090142_Samsung Internet (resized).jpg
Quoted from pinballinreno:If no one chimes in, Ill measure it when I get back to my shop tomorrow.
Thanks, I found them (see post above) but could use some help with the lampshade post size...
Quoted from mjenison:Looking at your picture, it seems your post for the lamp shade might not be correct.
Thanks guys
I didn't think the large rectangular plastic was used, but was not sure about those little guys.
I guess they are just "extras"...
Quoted from pinheadpierre:Looking forward to seeing how the translucent eyeballs look in a game.
I was thinking the same thing, I bet they look great.
Quoted from jawjaw:Btw - anyone have a spare plastic that goes below that popcorn plastic? Looks like mine lost a screw and then broke at the corner. I don't see anywhere to buy one without buying whole set
My old one is in decent shape and completely intact, you can have it if you want...I will post a pic later today when I go out to the shop.
Quoted from cosmokramer:My old one is in decent shape and completely intact, you can have it if you want...I will post a pic later today when I go out to the shop.
Quoted from jawjaw:Appreciate the offer but I am looking for the plastic that's right below that one. The one that sits on top of S target.
I have this one, it is intact but shows a bit of wear....
20220115_105842 (resized).jpg20220115_105902 (resized).jpgHeres a simple speaker upgrade that makes a huge difference in sound quality and volume...I just finished my restoration with this set up and it sounds incredible for around $100-120
I also does away with the choke coil...

Pictures of speaker I used...
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/no-catchy-thread-title-this-time-just-a-funhouse-restoration/page/5#post-6444070
I have tried flipper fidelity and pinball pro in the past and was unhappy with the results.
FYI, my game runs on the WPC platform not system 11
I cant speak as to how well this works on system 11
Also, I still have my choke coil if someone wants it...but it seems easy enough to source a new one
Quoted from pencilneck:So I've got my Funhouse all apart for one of those $15,000 restored jobs... looking at it on the floor.... does it need that bottom flap with the round hole? Could one maybe use something like 1.25" aluminum square tubing and fab something?
Fabricating something that would function properly shouldn't be too difficult if you aren't too concerned about the appearance being original. Sounds like your only option at the moment, just keep an eye out and eventually an original will pop up...then you can swap out the one you made.
I used the pinballdecal.eu on my resto and they looked great. I could see no difference between them and originals

Quoted from DuffysArcade:Yeah, your set looks fine. Somehow I ended up with a purple set. I guess digital printing can result in such things. I for sure didn't want the world's only purple Funhouse.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Yeah, wow that looks way off. I wonder why? I ordered mine early 2021
