Ok, wow, that is VERY cool! Nice job! (care to make more and offer them for sale???)
I do have one question for the group... on my machine when I got it, the little lamp and cover above the trap door was not installed. I got the stainless steel hood and the post and screws as well as the wiring connector, but not the actual lamp holder/socket.
Can you tell me which lamp socket is the correct one to use? Wedge base I believe and I would think it needs to have the attaching bracket far enough away from the socket wire tabs to not interfere with mounting. Not sure what that is for part numbers or where to buy one?

Its just a regular side mount socket:

Put heat shrink tubing on the leads. the wires go around the hex post.

It looks awesome but can it be any bigger?

Thanks, that makes sense.
Joining the club and I got a nice machine but it has an overlay from Phoenix arcade the guy sanded it all down bare wood 3 coats of automotive clear that was 19 months I just took it all apart to add different rubbers to it hope it last

Your machine does look nice. Lots of little mods I see too like the STEP target decals and the ramp switch cover on the right side that has the full image on it instead of being clear. I saw those for sale on eBay and was considering getting that. Still might now having seen it on a game.
Anyone have a good image from underneath that would show me the wiring on the P target switch along with the Superdogs targets as well?
I am getting the occasional game reset and it is very consistent with whenever you hit the P firm and dead on. Or maybe that isn't it and it's just a coincidence. I have one of the "no more reset" gadgets ready to install, but wanted to confirm this wiring first. It doesn't happen everytime you hit the P, only once in a while and it seems like it's when you have multiball or other things going on at the same time.
Quoted from Scott8806:Thanks the overlay bothered me but I can't find a flaw in it
I don't see any issues with it - looks like they knew what they were doing from the photos.
They did it for 25 years idont know it lokks great can't find anything plays fast u just Herr horror stories about them lol
Quoted from brainmegaphone:I don't see any issues with it - looks like they knew what they were doing from the photos.
That is the key, know what you are doing. The overlay is particularly important as it's basically a full sheet that needs to be adhered to the existing wood, and the slightest of air 'bubble' will make for a less than perfect result. It's like of like a screen protector for your smartphone. If you apply the screen protector perfectly, then it lays down and works great.
That said, the overlay in the pictures above looks great!!!!
It does its perfect I have looked at every angle and it was done 19 months ago and still looks perfect I just have to get over the overlay thing I guess shoukd I be waxing it ever so often
Just picked up a Funhouse! Had a blown varistor and a couple of issues with the upper flipper and about 25 lamps that were out, but I got it working almost 100% (pics soon)... except for one big issue: a good shot to the ramp and the ball will fall off the wire form on its way to the left flipper and fall into the pops!
WTF. never seen that before on a Funhouse, and I've worked on a bunch. At first I thought it was because I had it pitched too steep, but the ball is falling off the topside of the wireform not the bottom, and lowering the pitch made it worse.
Anybody seen this before? Like I saud, I've worked on a bunch, but this is my first one owning it.
thanks,
mark

Is it falling off the top of the wire ramp? Are the left wire ramp guards in place?

Mine used to do this sometimes. I added a flat piece of felt on the right side of the ramp, the part up against the right side of the machine where the ramp goes into the bend (in front of the 2d screw on the right side area of that ramp), to take some speed off the ball.
Any chance someone has got a paint code for the cabinet blue from Home Depot or Sherwin Williams? Found the info for Lowes, but my nearest Lowes is 150 miles away and I don't really want to go the 2x rattle can route either.

Mix the paint and match it to the decals.
Decal colors vary quite a bit.

I don't have decals. I'd like to touch-up the original cab.

Is all the red faded away?
Quoted from canea:Mostly.
I would pull the playfield and re-decal the cabinet other than just a touch-up that will show.

Zero interest in decals. Have been down that road many times and much prefer a faded original cab over decals. Just looking for the paint.

Gotcha.
Quoted from Scott8806:When I start a new game my gangway arrows are lit up shouldn't they reset with each new game
I would imagine you will find your gangway settings differ from the factory ones. You can find those in the feature adjustments menu and specifically adjustments 4 through 7. Adjustment 5 is probably the one you are after.

$3k for a good condition FH is a bargain. Even if you need to drop another grand for a repro playfield, and a few hundred on misc other stuff, you are still in the major deal zone…
Here are some pics of my bargain Rudy. That's the varistor that done blowed up real good and the scorch marks left behind.

Looks great - the best machines are the most loved. Sometimes they just need a little extra help.
Looking for advice on upper flipper alignment. Looks like someone has taken pliers to bend the rail edge near the flipper out a bit, which possibly makes the ball leave the rail when traveling over the flipper. Moving my flipper's resting position off the side rail makes both the upper shots feel snappier and better, but my rubber gets torn up on the rail edge pretty quickly.
What's the proper position for the upper flipper? Should it rest flush against the rail and not touch the rail edge when flipped?

The flipper bat should not be contacting the flatrail edge.
The coil stop is what stops the flipper bat, not the rail edge.
Something is out of position or wrong.
Quoted from AlexRogan84:How are these?[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Perfect, thank you, exactly what I needed. Someone did a bushfix to this one.
Quoted from pinballinreno:The flipper bat should not be contacting the flatrail edge.

So standard position for the flipper would be tight against the side rail when not energized, correct?
Quoted from canea:So standard position for the flipper would be tight against the side rail when not energized, correct?
I would say parallel to it, but not touching. Reason being is that when the flipper is at rest, the crank-link assembly underneath should be touching the bumper plug (p/n 23-6577). That gives you the intended flipper travel.
Here's a picture of my upper flipper assembly from underneath. And some from above. Could you post a picture of underneath on your game? I am thinking your flipper is flipping too far, which to me says that rubber bumper plug is probably missing or too small.

All looks pretty standard to me. Dunno. Maybe the rail edge above the flipper is out of wack/extra sharp from being monkeyed with.
fh (resized).jpgAnyone needs a set of decals I got mine from over seas and then it took so long to get here I had the cabinet painted so I never used them still in container selling them cheap if anyone needs a real nice set PM me
