Thanks aswell.

I shorted row 5 of J206 all the Green-black wires switches and optos are not working,
also did try to jumper wire from J206 pin 5 to J208 Pin 2 (should be Right Outlane) but no connection on test.

It's getting fixed.

Thanks for the replys.

Shorting a switch row can cause that chip to pop. I'm no expert in that department so won't offer up any more advice. Does it look fried?

FH fans -- I'm looking for a set of Rudy eyes. Put up a marketplace ad, but thought I should check in here as well. Repro, New, or used in nice condition.

With leds should be cool, or without and color.

Hey everyone! I'm shopping out a FH for a friend. Rudy is very noisy, and his eyes don't close. Is there a rebuild kit I need or does he just need taken apart and cleaned?

Thanks!

Pinbits has a rebuild kit. His eyes don't close because the centering flange is probably toast.

Okay thanks so much. Now he's also really noisy when he moves his mouth and when his eyes move left. More indication of a rebuild needed or something else?

Not sure, but it could be his gears are gummed up. When you take him out, give everything a good cleaning and lube the gear. There's not much to him in terms of noise, two coils and the gear motor.

Thanks. Also I don't see the rebuild kit on pin bits. Just a eyeball protector set.

That's the kit...

http://www.pinbits.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13_3&products_id=401

You won't need the eyelid protectors, but will likely need the round black centering flange and possibly the long plastic pieces that connect between the coil plunger and the eyelids. If I were you, I'd take him out and see what's going on. The manual has a very good diagram too. Then order that kit. You will need a small punch to get the roll pins out, kit comes with new ones.

Sounds good. Thanks again. Just making sure I'm looking at the right stuff.

Rebuilt the flippers on this funhouse and it's seems the flippers are crazy strong. Are there strength settings on this game? Weaker coils I can use?

You could try to check your EOS switches if they are always closed when not used,
and that they open faster should make them a little less strong.

I noticed that on my funhouse.

I wonder when i open up my coin door, the flippers and high power still work.
On my scared stiff i receive a notice that the high power is turned off when i open the coin door and flippers wont work and so on.

Is this normal on my funhouse?
Should these high powers still be active ones you opened the coin door?

#678 6 years ago

It's different on earlier games, they don't have the power cutoff. Normal.

My google search kungfu is weak today. Anyone have part numbers for the carriage bolt and pivot sleeve that mount in cabinet as pivots for the playfield?

Mine had one sleeve, and other side was just the bolt so threading is jacked now. Would like to replace as I proceed with the restore.

If anyone can provide a photo or confirmation of the pivot pin component order that would be a help as well. Just not sure if washer goes against the wood, or between sleeve and nut...

Mine has bolt, washer, sleeve, nut.

Thanks!

Coil is good, but might replace it next year it was a little tight.

For those that want to customize their game a bit, I just designed and made a few of these custom lamp covers. They are made from polished 18 gauge stainless steel and feature a unique design that mimics 1950's neon signs. The arrow runs along the top of the lamp cover to across the bottom of the text. Also, the back of the lamp features a surprise message from Rudy. I really like how this came out. I only have five left and not sure if I'll get a chance to make another set.

They can be ordered from my pinside shop: https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1025-professor-pinball/01148-funhouse-custom-lamp-

My FunHouse lock doesn't seem to be working. It only catches the ball about 20% of the time. The rest of the time just releases back to the upper flipper without stoppping. Is this due to the worn out disc assembly? It looks a little bent up but doesn't look completely blown out. Any remedies for this?

Sorry I don't have any pictures - the game is at my parents' house because of space issues.

Edit: After some research, I'll try readjusting the lock mech and see if I can get it to work properly. The spring may also be an issue. If not, I will get a new assembly for $20 from Bay Area Amusements.

#695 6 years ago

sorry i cant answer , but i did just join the club.

#696 6 years ago

You'll need a new cam mate. They get bashed and loose the curve which keeps the ball locked.

#697 6 years ago

I replaced my cam a while ago. I could not locate the whole assembly that Bay Area sells at the time. I had to chisel off the cam and pound the new one on. Luckily it is working fine.

I have one if you need it. I thought I needed a new one, but it was just an adjustment. If bay area is out of it, I'll sell it for whatever they charge plus a couple of dollars shipping. I got it from them.

Hi all,
got FunHouse the other day Just going through maintenance and need to fix Rudy's eyes and eyelids.

Does anyone know how to detach the lower jaw from the gear under the playfield? I can't pull the head out because I can't detach the jaw from it.

Thanks!

#700 6 years ago

If I recall, you can leave the jaw attached and pull the entire assembly out.
