My Funhouse center backglass solenoid-controlled GI (a.k.a., “Rudy GI”) isn’t working.

Connectors good, no fuses blown. Continuity good from back box to J120.

On full GI test I get about 7.9VAC on both orange-white and orange leads. This seems odd, but only because I am comparing this to upper GI where there’s 7.9VAC on green-white, and 1.7VAC on green lead.

Everything else working great on this pin.

DMD Driver board is new Rottendog. Can’t recall if issue was the same with the stock board.

Problem solved, thanks in part to old timers on RGP.

For posterity, here’s what happened:

I was incorrectly testing power to ground, so voltage readings were inaccurate. Tested properly across orange to orange-white the circuit was dead.

Thinking the transistor might have blown, I grounded Q10 and all the Rudy GI lights came on. So transistor and fuse good.

I moved to the U1 IC with a logic probe and tested all GI signaling ... all good.

Traced the power back to J115 on lead 7 and realized it wasn’t even terminated. I had previously re-pinned the connector and mistakenly had the lead on pin 9 (key/unused). I corrected my mistake and all was well again.
