Not much of a poster here but just wanted to share the results of restoring the reds on my Funhouse cabinet decals.

After much research and experimentation with everything from sharpies and paint markers to name a few, I decided to settle on producing a set of water slide decals from photographs and scans on my cabinet.

I’m happy to report that I’m absolutely delighted with the results and as such have posted a handful of pics below of some before and afters.

My process was fairly simple but I’m happy to detail it for those who may want to do this.

The short version of the process is to photograph or purchase a roll over hand scanner from Amazon to capture the image you would like to restore. That image was then loaded into photoshop where I filled in the missing red colours and then deleted everything around them. The resulting image was printed on water slide decal paper from Amazon and was printed on my inkjet printer at home. From there the decals are cut out, placed in water and slide directly onto the cabinet. I have yet to clear over the decals but I’m still contemplating whether I really want to do that.

Thanks and happy restoring!

Wow, looks great. Appreciate the process as well. Any chance you could take a close up? I'm interested in how thin it is or how it looks from more of a side angle I guess. Thanks.
