Found alkaline damage from leaking batteries (Damn Duracells) on my Funhouse. So, what to do? Look on pinside forums of course! Found out someone used white vinegar to clean, and then rinse with warm water. OK lets try it....I used an old toothbrush to gently clean all the alkaline off and I think it's going to be OK. It will need a new battery holder, but I'm thinking that should do it. We shall see. I'm going to add before and after pics if I can...110.JPG110.JPG111.JPG111.JPG110.JPG110.JPG110.JPG110.JPG

I wonder how much damage is under the battery holder.

Good luck !

I should probably go ahead and get that off the board huh?

Good one John...that board won't work long, if at all.

I bought this game back from a friend, just got it set up....he left the batteries in it while in storage for a few years. It was working in the game. It wouldn't hold the settings and that's when I took a look and found the damage....

I'd toss it. That board has so much potential problems, even if it works now.

You'd have to remove the ICs and just not worth the labor. That board will haunt you forever.

I'd replace that board, and keep this one as a backup if it's still working.

Gotta agree with the consensus, that's pretty bad and won't work long if you can get it 100% in reasonable time. Just too much damage.

Batteries on boards are bad, mmkay...

That board is real bad, IMO. I would junk it and buy a new one.

#12 10 years ago

Probably will end up replacing....but I'm gonna try a new battery holder and see what happens first. Terry has them for 5.50. That's a lot cheaper than a new board, and as always money is an issue haha. It was working, so we shall see I guess. Anyone willing to part with a good used board, let me know. I'll probably have to buy a Rottondog otherwise I'm assuming?

RD or source a used board...it's in your future...
