Hurricane Harvey has done a number on our fellow Texans. Port Aransas and Rockport are in desperate need of supplies. South Houston is in desperate need of supplies. Both areas are in terrible condition.

So I am asking for the pinball community on Pinside to come to their aid.

My sister is traveling back to her home in Rockport on Saturday, Sep 2

They need batteries, bottled water, blankets, clothes, non perishable food, medicine, soap, and above all, hope.

Any money raised will be used to purchase bulk items for the trip back to Rockport as well as a bulk purchases that I intend to deliver to Houston.

All funds that are raised will be used to purchase these highly needed items.

    My PayPal is marcus_trevino@yahoo.com

I will start the donations by giving $100 to this fund.

    Please help if you can.

Thanks for the bumps guys. So far, $225 has been donated. Anything, even $1, is appreciated.
If you are going to be in the DFW Area, there will be two events on Wednesday. One at Nickelrama and another at Freeplay Richardson.

Please donate if you can. Every dollar counts, and this is truly a disaster for those affected.

    Quoted from Cserold:

Matched the current total. Thank you Marcus. These guys are going to need a lot of help. I was born and raised in south Texas (Victoria, TX). Let's go guys. Let's get this thing built up. -- Craig

Craig, your donation is awesome!! Thank you so much.

    Quoted from Frax:

I don't have a lot to give, but I'll try and find some clean clothes I don't need and whatnot and bring them on wednesday. I'd really prefer to give cash, as it's a hassle to transport stuff that far, but I'd rather do something than nothing.

Anything helps. Thank you so much!
    See you Wednesday!

We have just passed the $500 mark in donations!

Please consider donating. If every person logged on right now donated $1 (one dollar), then that would easily double the donations.

I will be purchasing goods on Thursday.

I will post the receipt that same day.

    Quoted from iceman44:

Just sent donation hopefully to the right Marcus.
From Doug Moe. Marcus M Trevino, LLC ?

That is correct. Thank you for the donation!

Maybe other pinball companies will match that!

    #21 2 years ago

Thank you JJ and your Game Exchange Staff! Your donation has now pushed us to $1,300!!

    #25 2 years ago

    More donations have come in.

I'll provide a tally in the morning.

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far!

Last count we are just over the $1,500 mark.

    #29 2 years ago

Thanks to everyone that has donated.

    $1,650 so far.

5 families have been identified in Rockport.
They lost everything. Going to be buying food and items for them as well as collecting clothes for them.

If you are in the DFW Area today, please consider stopping by Nickelrama Arcade and/or Freeplay Richardson and donate for the cause.

I'll be at Nickelrama Arcade in Garland, TX from 3pm - 10pm. Come play Star Wars, Dialed In, Ghostbusters, Hobbit, Game Of Thrones, and many more modern machines with us.

If you prefer to donate online, you can send a donation via paypal to marcus_trevino@yahoo.com.

Just found out that a Fellow Pinball Collector in Beaumont, TX lost everything.

    2 autos
    All furniture
    All clothes
    All food

Flooding in an area that has not flooded before. Insurance denied his claim.

His name is Allen Robertson. He is a Pinsider.
    His handle is 2FlippedOut41MO

I have sent him $500 from this fund.

If you wish to donate specifically for Allen, please make a note saying so when you donate via PayPal. Send donations to marcus_trevino@yahoo.com

Super huge Thanks to FUN! Superstore in Mesquite, TX.

They donated $200 to the Allen Robertson Fund!

    Thank you so much FUN!

    Quoted from Pinball_Nate:

Marcus - how can non-Paypal people contribute???

If anyone wants to send funds via snail mail, I can arrange that. Just send me a PM and I'll provide you an address.

I believe there is an effort to set up a go fund me account.

Once I know the information, I'll post the go fund me information here.

    Quoted from fiberdude120:

Marcus,Just sent a little help,I hope things work out for all down there.

    Quoted from wayout440:

That situation is so very awful. Donated.

    Thank you both!

I have touched base with two other Pinball guys who were affected by flooding.
And word just arrived today that Beaumont, TX has lost fresh water.

While I'm VERY, VERY proud of Pinside stepping up and donating so much, we still need so much more.

If you have not yet donated, please consider just sending $1.00 (one dollar). If everyone that reads this post sent $1.00, we could raise hundreds, if not thousands of dollars for these poor souls.

So while you do not have to donate to this fund, I hope you consider donating somewhere.

    Long satisfying day today.

Collected some diapers, dry food, ramen, gatorade, rice, beans, wet wipes, soap, shampoo and a bunch more items.

Took me a good 5 hours, but I was able to visit everyone that was donating for my trip on Saturday.

To all of you that donated via Paypal, Thank you very much. Every donation is valued and I am eternally grateful to each and every one of you.

Tomorrow is the day I go shopping for the trip to Rockport. So this will be an exiting day.

I also donated 30+ tickets to the Texas Ranger game on Friday Night. Harvey Evacuees in the DFW area will get a chance to watch some baseball for a few hours and then enjoy a firework show synchronized to Star Wars Music. Huge props to jared for using his Facebook powers to hook up these families that need a respite from the reality of their world.

I hope to have some pictures, but I most likely will not post them until after I return from Rockport.

With all this said, please consider donating if you have not yet done so. Every dollar counts and I will do my best to make sure that your dollar gets spent on the people who need it the most.

    Quoted from Lermods:

We just made a small donation and wanted to take it a step further. Now through midnight on Monday, we will donate 10% of our gross sales directly to Xerico's fund. Purchases must be made directly through our website at Lermods.com. We don't have any code for this, but please note your pinside handle when checking out or just send me a PM noting that you made a purchase. Just trying to help out our friends in Texas and feel this is one more way we can do it. Of course, you can also just donate directly to the fund itself.

    THANK YOU!!! This is awesome!

Every donation counts, and this is an incredible gesture.

Enjoying the Texas Rangers vs California Angels with a few Evacuees from Harvey.

Some much needed entertainment for these strong people.

100 miles to go to Rockport.

Stopping in San Antonio to pick up some provisions generously donated by iceman44

    The Iceman Delivers

For those that donated, on behalf of those in need, I thank you. If you have not yet donated, please consider sending $1.00 (one dollar). With your help, we can remind the survivors that we are all brothers and sisters and together we can overcome tragedy.

First group of survivors getting some items to help them through the night.

Very humble people. Only took items like wet wipes, q tips, and shampoo ... and a box of banana twinkles.

    God bless them.

The trip to Rockport opened my eyes to the devastation that will plague the area for many months, if not years.

These poor souls are going to need help well beyond the lifespan of Hurricane Harvey's fifteen minutes of fame.

But I am proud to say that Pinside and our very generous pinball community made a huge difference to many families this weekend.

Together, $1,500 in cash was distributed to families that lost everything. Many lost their homes and also their jobs as industry in the area took a huge hit.

My heart melted as grown men and women cried when I presented them with $200 cash. I did this for 7 families and I gave $100 to a group that was grilling food and giving it away for free.

I also made sure these same families took a basket full of items to help them get through the next few days and weeks.

Over $1,000 in purchased goods was given away as well as used clothes.

I will post picture later. But from the bottom of my heart, I wanted to thank everyone that donated to this journey. You helped give people hope. And that was just as necessary as bottled water.

    Thank you all!
