I am stuck between getting a TAXI or FT--new to pins, my wife and I would be playing, what do you think! Looking for fun games not too difficult. I have a chance to get either pin.

Taxi...simple..classic...and Fun!

#3 10 years ago

I like FT over Taxi. The music is annoying but i think the game play is fun enough.

I used to have an FT; sometimes I miss it. Taxi on the other hand is a game that I have always had trouble getting into. I love the video mode on FT!

#5 10 years ago

I like both but Taxi is a little better in my opinion.. Both are great games!

Add a poll to topic. FT gets my vote by a hair, both great games!

FT is more fun long term both are good games.

Fish Tales all the way. the corny music is fun.

Taxi is a classic. When my non pinhead friends are over it gets played the most.

Taxi, I love the simplicity of it.

Before deciding between the two Mark Ritchie games, take a look at this Pinside Forum thread about pins under $2000; as I'm guessing that you're considering buying your first pin, but may not have gotten enough exposure on either machine (your wife included). My advice would be to get some time on the two machines and beyond before you make the investment.

Between the two games, Taxi is an alphanumeric game and Fish Tales is a DMD game. Also:
- Taxi: nice artwork, simple effective playfield and lots of fun, considered a classic
- FT: has a bit more items in the playfield, some may consider it more challenging than Taxi (which does not always translate into more fun though), has a more interesting topper than Taxi, but it will never be considered a classic.
