There is a gumball test in which the machine cycles loading and unloading the gumball machine and tells you where the problem is.

Sounds like you should check that outhole switch.
If it not registers it would also not feed the gumball machine.

Yeah, but the only switch that tells the machine that there are balls missing in the gumball machine is the outhole switch.

Just go into switch test and push all switches with your finger.
Report back switches that not register.
You may have ripped off a wire on some switch.
