I just completed a complete restoration of my funhouse. Everything is working perfectly but can't enter the initials for high score. the flipper coils were rebuilt and work great but the test report says the flippers aren't working and i don't think the CPU sees the flippers. where to start?

Check all the connectors on the CPU.

Same issue trying to use both flipper buttons?

Your game has the WPC board set?

Check the power driver board. Specifically U7 and U8, the signal for the flipper buttons runs through there to tell the CPU board they are being pressed. It's not uncommon for those to fail.

But it is uncommon for both of them to fail.
Good lead though.

First, as PinballManiac40 mentioned, does your FH have the WPC board set in it?
Second, is your driver board a -1 version, with the flipper relay "cube" on it?
Third, does your MPU show any alkaline corrosion on it? There are a couple of traces that lead to the 4N25s on the driver board (via the ribbon) that can be compromised.

I stumbled on this thread trying to figure out why my PZ won't allow entry of high score initials. The flipper button doesn't change to letters when pressed, the spaces just stay blank. Test report was saying to check the flipper button and flipper eos switches. I did a factory reset and that went away, but the high score initials entry issue remains.

The mpu board had alkaline corrosion on it that I attempted to clean up using vinegar, alcohol, sandpaper, and wire brush. I removed the battery holder and installed a remote one. Here are pictures of the mpu board in and out of game. Where should I focus next?
