Question: Did you take the day off from work to be home when this bad boy showed up? I would have too!

Frolic, How does the clear coat look? I've not heard anyone mention good or bad, just curious. How does it compare to your newer Sterns?
Thanks,
Zamp

Quoted from cooked71:

Is the PF glass standard wide body glass? Can you remove it from the bezel?
With the extra width (due to the bezel) does it feel too wide ie. wider than TZ for example?

It is standard wide body size glass.

Great Video! Thanks for sharing & keep them coming!
Some observations from the video:
1) G.I. lighting looks pretty good.
2) The LCD looks great, but they need to add a Lot more animation on that thing. How about a bike crashing when the ball drains?
3) Loving the LCD in the playfield.
4) Music sounds killer!

Question. How would you compare the Clear Coat of the playfield to your newer Sterns?

Thanks,
Zamp

Quoted from frolic:

I am no Clear Coat expert but it seems good, clear, solid like glass. I know the quality of clear is not suppose to affect dimpling, but I can state right now that my Star Trek at this point had many visible dimples and I just turned on the over head light for Full Throttle and stared at the clear and don't see anything like that. I didn't see any, actually. Not saying there are none, didn't examine it with a magnifying glass, but definitely nothing like my Star Trek experience which was another wild and fast ball game.
I can also say the wood used on the cabinet is all good quality wood. No MDF particle board on the bottom.

Thank God! It's probable then, that Heighway Pinball is using superior wood & clear coating methods. This is great news! I can't wait to get mine!

Quoted from frolic:

I think the LCD can be jazzed up a lot more. Fortunately that is software than can be updated. The information on it is fine, we don't need quad-screen info for all games like WOZ. The cartoon style is fine. I just think there could be more animations, more text effects.

Yes. I agree 100%. An easy fix. Or should I say, update.

Quoted from hlazzer:

it does not matter how "good" good the wood is. It will always be softer than a steel ball. Thats why they use a steel ball in hardness testing to come up with the Janka number

I didn't say "good". Not sure who you are quoting.
