We were at the German Flipper Convention last weekend, and Martin at Pinball News took some footage.

There are no toys fitted in this clip, the screen graphic is only a representation of the finished version and the machine is being flipped without rules - but you can see the speed of the gameplay, the shots, the flow and the loop/combo opportunities

The full article can be found on Pinball News:

We would appreciate any comments from Pinsiders!

    Thanks,

Thanks for the feedback so far.

Skrippy - yes you're right - the ends of the ramps were not modified for Berlin but the bounce back won't happen. We will either put stoppers in or modify the exit slats so the ball will channel down rather than hitting the ramp plastic ends

Jim - the new website will be running soon - I promise!! But for now, anybody who likes Heighway Pinball on Facebook gets most of the news first

RGR - fear not, we are addressing this ... The 8th race is the mystery race (?) and for the Aussie market it will be ... Australia. Or, our second option is to replace one of the other races with the Australian race. Either way, Australia will have a race for its own market

    Thanks for all the comments.

Swinks - You're right, some of the O-C-T-A-N-E targets don't match, but that's just because it's a prototype. We are currently re-assessing the cabinet & speaker panel design

Swedishc - Ian Richardson, who did our art package, is a Marvel Comics animator. However, I respect your opinion and artwork is a personal thing after all.

PG - The four tables at the UK Pinball Party are all due to be Full Throttles, however I can't promise we won't have something else there too.

Don - Yes to both of your questions

We didn't have time to make these adjustments before the Berlin show as we only finished building the prototype before loading it into my car.

The few breaks to the flow that have been observed will be addressed shortly

Chocky - What you can hear is only very basic. It's not even a sound package. It's the main theme tune plus a few sound effects. The sound package in the finished game will be much more comprehensive. We will have at least 4 music tracks in the game, maybe more ... sound bites ... speech ... sfx, etc... Right now, the rules are complete, we just need to work on the sound, graphics and the few technical issues that we have. Plus we need to integrate the toys

Frolic/Chocky - we may well have an alternate backglass available by the time we reach production

    Hi guys,

We decided a good few months ago that to make Full Throttle the best game it could be, we needed to concentrate on our standard package, using the 10.4" playfield LCD screen.

We are committed to introducing the 46" transparent screen in the future - hopefully in time for our second game later in the year. The screen presents its own challenges - in particular, being able to light it sufficiently from the playfield to be able to display the graphics properly. We are still developing this side of things.

Regarding the X-ramp, we have examined 3 options:

    1. No diverter
    2. Static diverter
    3. Controlled diverter

Currently we are testing with number 1, but over the next few weeks we will also be testing number 2 and if necessary, number 3. All 3 options have a bearing on gameplay and we will choose the one that fits in best with our ruleset

As for the toys and the country flag situation, we will announce more about these in the coming weeks.

Regading the operating system - we are using our own system which comprises of a Linux-based motherboard and our own proprietary hardware and software.

Full Throttle is a generic term. It can be trade marked in different sectors like soft drinks, video games and ... Pinball

As video games are different from pinball, there is no problem
