Quoted from Whysnow:

What is the update process for heighway games?

There's a usb stick in the cpu, you put the new game code on that, and put it back in, and it will auto load it.

I haven't done it myself, but Andrew has explained it in the past.

The 1.20 software is completed, but undergoing some final testing before we release it. It shouldn't be much longer.

Any juicy details?

Any juicy details?

There are some bug fixes, new sounds, new voices, new animations and some rules tweaking.

Right now software 1.20 is being tested prior to general release.

Initially, the software is downloaded onto a USB stick as a full package, and then the system gets updated when the USB stick is inserted back into the CPU

Further down the line, updates over WIFI/network connection will be possible

Here are some other things we have been working on...

New playfield LCD screen cutout & window, and ball shooter protector:

The black gloss is perfect for the future Alien conversion. Nicely done.

If I could throw my 2 cents in on GUI, I would change the colors of scores and text so that they don't blend in with the background(s) as much in certain animations. This was something I noticed at Expo, but know/understand the software is continuing to evolve.

I'm still getting used to the thin backbox, but this game deserves more praise and attention. Wishing Heighway great success in 2016.

#57 3 years ago

Awesome!!! The area around the screen in the playfield looks really good now. That was one of my only real complaints. The games at expo looked a little unfinished in that area. Can't wait to get my game from cointaker with all of the improvements that have been made to this game.

#58 3 years ago

Looking good. Looking forward to getting this game.

We have this on location now at The Sanctum in Meriden CT. Spent a couple hours last night tweaking all the shots so everything flows buttery smooth and boy when you do that the game becomes lighting quick. It's a huge hit here. Everyone's loving it. Game got 200 plays on our Christmas party last Wednesday night.

Just played a couple games at Nitro Amusements and got a pretty decent score. I love the way the challenge multiballs stack up!

The game needs 4 more approved ratings to be eligible for the Pinside pinball top 100 list!
Camon!

Me too! I'm a little discouraged that I haven't heard anything since they asked for more money.

Any shipments landing stateside?

Quoted from PinballRulez:

Shaker motor: Available

Fiber optic ramp: In test phase

So fiber optics--not "yet". Is the shaker an option? I didn't see that as an option when ordering.

#72 3 years ago

I've heard from CT that they will have around 24 that should be here around the end of February.

I hope that"24" you speak of is after the first batch of "78" I've been hearing about. I really don't want to wait until the end of February, considering mine is in that "78".

It is still not on their website. But I could order it and Andrew told me that the code for the shaker is already included in the rules.

I must admit though that I did not hear of the shaker being present in pins that Heighway brings to shows nor in the pins that already have been shipped.

@Andrew: If you might read this, can you comment on the availability of the shaker motor.

ditto...first they were to be done late Oct, then Dec, then shipping January...this pinball production biz is unpredictable

Both. Once we list it on the website, you can either buy it there or email Oti directly about it

I received an email from Oti @ Heighway Pinball showing my pin being boxed up, she included this Playfield pic. Notice anything different/new?

Screen bezel?

#89 3 years ago

That was added a few weeks ago. This addition I haven't seen any news on. It's minor, but looks good. I spotted several 3 or 4 of them. Here's another pic.

Right ramp sign!
League racing
Left ramp sign? (Cannot see that fully on picture?)
And the red sign in the back

That's four

Makes the overall look more complete. I like it very much.

Yes, air freight. I believe it was $250 to my door in 7-10 days (16th-19th).
