Just spent several hours tonight playing my RS. The game just doesn't get old for me. There is so much to do, and so many shots that all get utilized through the different modes. You really can't appreciate RS until you own it.
People complain it is too linear, but once you start to get the hang of it and start crossing the country regularly the amount of modes you find is staggering. Pay attention to the souvenirs you win and try to visit the corresponding city for a bonus. You control which city you want by the different color standups and pops. Hint: always start in Miami since New York is a drain happy point waster. Shoot the ramps for the bridge out multipliers that will really make the souvenirs worthwhile. Look for what your wheel bonus may be if it is lit. If it is something you want shoot the blast zone hole to have it awarded. If not shoot the spinner for a random award. Concentrating on blast zone hits gives big points and extra ball award, or go for multiball and jackpots. The left plunger falling rocks shoot is a great challenge to lite and hit the extra ball award. Red and Ted are awesome toys in my opinion. Funny and interactive. I hate country, but I sing along when jackpots are hit.
As you can tell I'm a definite cheerleader for this game. Like was said before you have to spend some time with Red to fall in love. I'm still learning and seeing new things almost 2 years into ownership. Fish Tales is great, but RS is another level for me.
