Trading shadow for iron maiden pro. Shadow works 100%. Has nvram installed. Sanctum is original and not worn down to the wood. Applied mylar patch to keep it from wearing through. Will also include a fully restored and clear coated shadow playfield ready to install with it.

A whole helluva lot of cash....

I'd say the average The Shadow sells for is around $3500. Maybe the playfield is worth another grand? But if it needs the playfield then its probably not a 3.5k machine. Maybe he would have to kick in around a grand to even it out?

Something change with your opinion of Stern's spike system? Or is Iron Maiden just that awesome you're willing to deal with it? (and yes, Iron Maiden is that awesome)

#11 5 years ago

it's not an opinion. Right now Spike system is a disposable throw away machine when it breaks down the road, and Stern no longer supports those node boards. So 10 years from now, people will be parting out one machine to try and save another. That's not an opinion, that's a fact. It sucks, because there are a lot of good games on the spike system. But down the road, we are going to be in trouble.

#12 5 years ago

Regardless of how you want to spin it, some part of your opinion changed because you've gone from multiple forum postings about not ever wanting to own a spike game to wanting to trade a nice title for one. Was just curious as to what changed your mind.

#13 5 years ago

well, any spike game I own. (already have GB). I just can't plan on keeping past the 5 year mark. So i'll have to play it and enjoy it, and then trade or sell it before shit goes south. And I will not buy new until Stern fixes this disposable format they have created.

I've been out of the game for a while.

What are you referring to regarding the Spike system? Is there some thread or article to check out?

#15 5 years ago

spike is the new board system stern uses, that replaced the SAM system. And before that. Whitestar. Whitestar was great and serviceable. SAM has schematics and also fixable for peanuts with soldering skills. SPIKE is not.

I will tell you what. I will do $100 bet you are wrong.

10 year mark - no more node boards, no replacements, no fixes. I will put the date in my Iphone and pay you if I lose also. Wanna do it?

Didn't you hear pinnyhead? Node boards are already NLA according to people. I guess Stern won't even talk to you about Spike, if they no longer support it!
Not saying node boards don't fail, or are awesome, but talk about a fearmonger.

I did say, unless Stern, makes the node boards universal (right now they have specific revisions for specific games) and release Schematics so we can actually repair our own stuff. they will eventually be disposable. Stern can fix this problem. They have the capabilities to make Spike games repairable in the distant future. Even now, the only option they give you if something fails on a node board is a $300 replacement, that should be a .40 cent fix. if it's a diode fail, it's .01 cent fix. But nooooooooooooooooo, stern says, screw you guys. You give us $300 for that shit. Hence why I will not buy a NIB from stern until they fix this problem. If they stop selling games, and it hits home hard enough. They will do something about it.

That's cool Neo. I didnt mean an animosity towards you or your views of what might be whatsoever if it sounded that way. I think things will be OK and my engineering and software pinhead friends explained in detail to me why, but who knows? We all know things change and we never truly know. You have to do whatever is within your comfort level and there are a ton of other great choices out there. I would like to make a bet like that though.

Back to TS. You may want to sell get some cash for your IMDN. TS is a really good player, yours looks nice and even more interesting with the PF in the mix also! Yes, someone will be stoked with your Shadow!

Also MGC show will have some specials also for you at a discount if you are going. GLWTS/T!
