This has happened before on my game, but very rarely.
Ours is also steep, waxed and super fast.

Front legs all the way down, back legs most of the way up.

That happens to mine too. when the ball enters casters club at very low speeds it can balance on the slot for the gate.

Only had mine a couple weeks and haven't experienced that yet. Make sure the level bubble is at least touching the 2nd line. I got it there now and may go steeper. I hate that floating ball effect when the playfield pitch is too shallow. If you can't get the captured ball to hit its upper target-then it's too steep.

A rules question. Is that drop target guarding Casters Club always up when starting multiball?

The target changes depending on how you have the rules set. On normal rules it will come up once you've made a jackpot already, and are trying to lock a ball again.

Harder rules it's always up, or easier rules it's always down, something like that anyhow.

I have mine set to normal, so it comes up once you've made a jackpot..
