Putting my BSD up for sale/trade. Game has no fade, clean playfield, plays 100%, all playfield lamps are LEDs. The only bad is the lower corners of the backbox are chipped and there are a couple of broken plastics. Overall a very presentable example of a great game. Only reason I am selling is that I now have two BSDs

$2600 OBO

Also open to trade offers.

No fade? O_o

#3 10 years ago

In his defense, I've noticed that camera flash makes my BSD look a lot more faded than it really is. Looks like the last few pics in his gallery are without the flash, though they only show one side.

#4 10 years ago

Both sides are the same, camera flash made the reds looked washed out. Ill try to get some more representative photos of the reds on both sides. There is no fade on the cab.

Has this game ever shot up in value over the last year or so. There were 2 of them at Allentown priced over 3k so this price of $2900 seems right in the market.

I actually have more than $2900 in the game. Heard one sold at Allentown for close to $4K.

One of the greatest pins ever! You should keep it! You have an awesome collection. These are getting harder to come by in nice shape.

#9 10 years ago

One did sell at Allentown for 4k and it sold right away too

It must have been pretty nice as that's about double what an average dracula goes for anywhere other than pinside.

Thanks. BSD will remain in my collection after this sale/trade. I currently have two of them

Nite bump.

#15 10 years ago

i have a nice austin powers and could add some cash if intrested

#16 10 years ago

Sorry, not interests in Austin Powers. Thanks for the offer.

#17 10 years ago

That's not "no fade," that's "even fade".

See attached pic for no fade with a flash (new decals).

In defense, an original Dracula with no fade is very tough if not impossible to find, and this isn't too bad, but I don't think "no fade" is remotely accurate.

Isn't that the truth. Goes for just about any title tho.

Not impossible. Mine has been kept in darkness as Dracula would have wanted it.

Nice. Has the red been touched up or is that just the camera? No argument Dracula in all forms hates the sunlight!

No touch ups. The red looks a little pixelated from the camera. Seems like the camera had a difficult time with bright red.

A perfect cab commands more money as it should...but I have never had fun playing a cabinet.

"BSD is fun to play!"(not a paid endorsement)

Game is definitely not faded. I've been really busy lately but I'll try to pull the game out and get some better, non-washed out pics tonight. If its faded at all, it is EXTREMELY minimal. The cab sides look very close to the "non-faded" pics above.

#25 10 years ago

Today is going to be the day! I can taste it!

Not only is the game faded, but it's more than just a little. If it's just a bad pic, you might want to fix that ASAP.

Got tied up with other things last night, will have more representative pics up tonight.

Afternoon bump for a fun machine.

#29 10 years ago

Here are some more representative photos of the cabinet colors. I am admittedly not much of a photographer. Colors on both sides are identical, did my best to capture the actual colors.

Not trying to make your life difficult here, but your close-up pictures in the light seem more telling than these new pics taken at a more flattering angle/light level. I mean, it didn't suddenly get more red since your first pics, which show the fade that's typical for this game, did it ? You can see it in the "D" pretty clearly. Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice cab compared to most and I think your asking price is fair, but I still think calling this no fade based on your first pics is asking for trouble if someone pays a $400-$500 premium on the game and another $400 to ship this based on that description. In the end, the pictures speak for themselves I guess, but the first ones seem more realistic to me because they're not done in the shadows....

So far there has been a washed out pic because of the flash, and a very low light shot.

How about some pics with good natural light and no flash?

The red is exactly as it is shown in the updated pictures, and even throughout all letters. In person it is almost exactly as shown in the first pic above. The red gets washed out with any sign of a flash, which is why I took them in low light.... trying to capture what the colors actually look like. You can see it in the D on the pictures initially posted because that's where the flash reflected back at the camera and washed out the colors.

Quoted from jalpert:

Wish I could, the game is in a room which is half underground and the windows are behind a large tree in my backyard. I can't take it outside very easily, I would be glad to go through the extra effort for an interested buyer.

Quoted from Ninefingers:

Thanks, it looks better than I can seem to capture in person. I am trying to accurately represent the game here... if it looked faded I would clearly describe it that way, I wouldn't want a buyer to show up and be disappointed. I don't intend to misrepresent the game in any way and I am sure the buyer will be happy with the "shade" of red on the Dracula letters. Honestly, I don't understand why people on this forum are nit-picking this game... especially if they are not interested in buying it.

cab looks great, and you don't play the cab. GLWS.

Can you please drive the game around the country so we can see, in person, if it's faded at all?

Quoted from jayhawkai:

Agreed, I would also like to see a 3D hologram to get the true representation of the edges on the cab and 7.1 surround sound audio. Personally, if the for sale thread is not directed by Steven Speilberg then I can't trust it.

Good point. You don't drive the original paint job on a '67 Corvette either, so might as well pay top dollar for it as long as it runs.

For the record, I WOULD be interested in this game at this price if I was convinced that that it was a no-fade original BSD, which I guess is why I got sucked into the nitpicking. No argument that's it's a very nice game...maybe I'm just pickier than most. One last bump.

How does that make any sense?? You can't compare two things unless they have something in common with the comparison. You don't drive a pinball machine all over town. Pinball machines usually sit sandwiched between other pinball machines....most people wouldn't even think to make a comment on a faded cab (which this is not)....it's about whats inside the cab. I mean yeah I wouldn't pay the asking price if it had missing artwork and dings and pieces of wood missing from it....but that's far from the case here.

Your logic here just doesn't work...sorry.

Do BSD cabs fade? Sure, as do Indiana Jones and most reds in that same time period. But where did this idea come that there are NO BSDs out there without fade?

The red on mine is vivid and dark. I know of two other BSDs in the KC area that have almost identical, dark red on the cab and in great shape.

It's not that rare folks, it really isn't.

#44 10 years ago

I would love a BSD, I don't know that I could sell going to Rochester to get it...

What is the difference between this BSD that you are selling and the one you are keeping?

Must get light spectrum to color match original paint code and take pictures with umbrella lights and backdrop. Wonder why I never put a pin up for sale on here......

#46 10 years ago
Quoted from Rando:

The one I am keeping is slightly nicer. The backbox corners on the one for sale are dinged and have some chips and the one for sale has a broken plastic (the long one near the right orbit) which isn't very noticeable... and not visible from the players perspective.

The one I am keeping has one broken plastic as well and has slight fade on the front of the cab, the one for sale has no/extremely minimal fade anywhere on the cab.

Some things are better on the game I am keeping and some things are better on the game I am selling. I am keeping the one that is slightly nicer in my opinion.
